# Callaway Mavrik 10.5:LAGP AXS Red 50 R driver review測試

Callaway Mavrik 10.5/LAGP AXS Red 50 R driver review測試

這次測試就是年初裝的三隻木桿，已經陸續把Epic/LAGP Trono， Mavrik Sub zero/LAGP Olyss公布測試報告。剩下就是Mavrik/LAGP AXS Red 50 R。 先說AXS系列在LAGP的產品定位，它是主力，為什麼它是主力？因為它有三種款式，分別為藍、紅、白三種。每一種都有其特性和重量來針對不同使用族群。

這樣的產品基本就是誰都找得到適合的。而我選紅色，就是算比較一般友善的規格。AXS裡頭，藍色最需要速度和力量去發揮，目前Dustin Johnson， DeChambeau都是用這一款。紅色一般，白色最容易也比較適合揮桿速度不快的使用者。但在過去Matrix桿身時代裡，有Q、X、M三種款式，也是在彈道、倒旋和起發角設定不同。

所以AXS是以過去Q、M、X為基礎去延續。而我過去一直都是用Q系列，X比較一般，M是性能導向桿身。到了LAGP就以顏色來區別。我選Red也是它會比較適合我使用，桿身的倒旋是中，彈道也是中，而白色是高和中倒旋。藍色是低彈道和低倒旋。LAGP的所有桿身都是Made in USA！不搭配OEM的產品。所以你只能和工坊訂購。

而白色有做到40g這個重量，紅色從50開始，藍色就是從60開始。就可以知道桿身各自有他們針對的族群。在規格上就可以看出。我也想從這次的測試裡去瞭解，在LAGP接手後Matrix的首次新產品上和以前Matrix是否有明顯差異？手感上或性能是否可以有提升的空間？對我來說是比較重要。

在LAGP裡的規格沒有討論太多AXS產品的技術和材質。所以只能猜測，桿身也是使用高噸位碳布材質。是否加入其他材質或運用什麼技術都是要打了才知道。而在以前的Matrix桿身裡，手感基本就是單調和偏硬。這對於亞洲球友來說是致命傷。手感是最敏感和直接，希望這次的AXS有提升和改善。

桿頭我就大致說一下，Mavrik是去年2020的桿子。它的好處在於改善很多Callaway木桿的問題，比如手感不佳、高容錯、大面積的碳纖維材質。當然以前的Callaway也或多或少有這些功能和技術，但目前的Mavrik是技術相對成熟和提升。所以我去年才會買了Mavrik和Mavrik Sub zero。也在於它的手感提升，同時性能依舊維持高檔。只要訂製是和我的桿身和規格，這桿子會很猛。

配置Mavrik也是對一般人來說會比較好打。因為桿頭的倒旋和容錯都高，在配合桿身也不會需要很快的速度和力量來駕馭，就可以把球打到空中。這是我對這桿子的設定預期。當然我也會把桿身拆換到不同桿頭去比較測試。因為Epic和Mavrik木桿都使用一樣的連接器來進行桿身拆換。配其他桿身是否有更好的結果？

This time I am sharing the review of my three drivers built in early of 2021\. I have shared Epic/LAGP Trono， Mavrik Sub zero/LAGP Olyss and now this time is Mavrik/ LA Golf AXS Red 50 R flex combo. The AXS is the main force of LAGP lineup for woods. Since there are three different types with various profiles for specific users and you can always find the right profile of the shaft for your swing and usage.

I pick Red one with 50 gram and R flex, Red is mid range for golfers who are smooth swing speed and tempo. The shaft is mid trajectory with mid spin rate. It's very reasonable profile for swing speed around 90\~97mph. The easier shaft is white that is targeting the swing speed below 95mph with high/mid trajectory and mid spin rate. The blue is low launch and low trajectory, it's currently using by DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson.

The good thing with LA Golf shaft is they only made for aftermarket shafts without OEM licensing or manufacturing in Asia with major equipment brands. That means you can only get it through workshop or clubfitting center with pure customization of your personal profile. After taking over by Matrix from 2019, LA golf shaft is making its own way in custom golf shafts.

We can not find too much detail and information regarding the AXS shafts but it's made by high module carbon fiber sheets with stronger material for loading and unloading golfers' power. It's good to try AXS as I am familiar with Matrix's products and hope to make the shafts better to the next level and improve the feedback of the shafts.

The Callaway Mavrik is also a good driver head that improves the previous Epic flash's harsh feedback and forgiving. Mavrik is easier for average golfers to handle and control with good forgiving and feedback of impact. This combo is targeting the average golfers who have swing speed 87\~95mph range and able to make the best result of the tee shot.

規格說明篇開始。

當然這也是建立在以我孩子的規格使用為主。所以長度也不會太長。三隻桿子的長度都一樣44"，桿頭和桿身重量都有些許不同。但都在合理可以使用和掌握的範圍內。 就是讓孩子可以去比較和使用看哪一支是最適合。桿身的重量要比另外兩隻木桿要輕約5g重要，所以總重也會稍微的輕一點，對於使用會更容易。也是我要把這桿子做為和其他兩隻的比較差異化。

握把也一樣使用Tour Velvet黑色，重量在50g，揮桿重量上這隻會稍微輕一點，也是因為桿身的重心也比其他兩隻要往中間跑。使用揮重會比較輕。可能我直接用這桿子反而會比較適合。試揮感覺比較舒服和輕鬆。沒有其他兩隻桿身比較明顯的重量。當然這也是凸顯AXS Red的桿身差異性和球桿設定上的特性。

使用這桿子很明顯感覺桿子相對輕。除了揮起來，桿子的力量在桿頭區塊。手握的部分非常輕鬆，比較少重量感。我個人覺得，如果你喜歡桿子的重量不在手握的區塊，或是桿子的重量感不要太明顯，這桿身真的會讓你感覺桿子很容易掌握和揮動。如果你用手臂主導的揮桿動作球友，想更容易上下桿，但下桿可以感受桿頭的移動，這類桿身特性是比較適合。減低你手臂負擔，同時可以掌握桿頭移動。

因為我是有另外2支桿子來比較，所以更能感覺三隻桿子的差異。我先打Mavrik桿頭一個月，然後再換Mavrik Sub zero桿頭。所以桿子的重量感是有差。因為我把Marik和sub zero兩個桿頭的桿頭重量是設定不同。所以用起來都可以感覺配這桿身相對好打，不會有吃力感，或下桿會感覺不舒服。

實際測試  
桿頭回饋 - 這桿子打起來，桿頭中球也是和另外兩隻桿身差不多。但紮實度，比較弱一點。也是整個桿面的撞擊回饋。感覺桿面有中球彈性，非常舒服！但非甜蜜點的中球就比較硬一點。應該是桿身的材質影響中球的回饋感。但我比較喜歡這桿身配上Sub zero的擊球感覺。可以比較容易感覺中球在桿面位置。

如果三個桿頭的中球比較來說，Epic最好，最彈的回饋，再來是Sub Zero， 最後是Mavrik。這只是程度一點上的不同，但都是不錯的回饋。比起以前那種Epic Flash鐵板一塊的回饋要好太多了。同時也不會輸SIM的擊球感覺。所以我認為在Mavrik和Epic這兩代的桿頭差別上並不會太多。只是Epic的細膩比Mavrik更好。

桿身回饋 - 這桿身不管配上Mavrik或Sub zero都是一樣，桿身的回饋都會感覺在桿身中段或中前段有小小的彈性。這和折點是不同。因為折點是明顯桿身在特定位置有釋放的感覺，但這桿身也有小小的彈性，但很難說這是折點，因為折點的話需要更大的彈力效果。可能這桿身的強度在中前段，所以會有一點彈力釋放。

This driver is worked with my son's swing therefore, the length of the driver is not long, the same as other two drivers with 44". The driver head weight and shaft weight are different with other two drivers but it's under the reasonable range since the head weight differentiation is about 3 game and shaft is lighter 5 gram. As a result, the total weight and swing weight are lighter than other two.

Since I am trying to make this driver as the easier to play and handle, and the weight the swing weight are light to allow junior golfers to control. He can compare with other two to realize the driver setup is different with others. Then he is able to know which one is better for him to play and perform.

Although the weight is lighter than other two but the weight is focused on the tip section that the user is able to feel and control the head movement through the downswing. That's the AXS Red shaft profile. Particularly if you use your arm to swing, it's better to have such setup for easier to downswing but you are able to control the head moving with making your arms less loading.

I play Mavrik for first month then change to sub zero to see the differentiations then I am able to watch the performances with various heads for completing the reviews of AXS red shaft. However, the shaft is very consistency and the differentiations are on the head setup and profile since sub zero is more able the control and workability.

Head feedback - This combo is good solid feedback during the impact but I would say the best impact is Epic Max LS then sub zero. Since Epic is able to feel which spot I strike during the impact and more bouncing in feedback. The off sweet spot is a little hard feel but it's acceptable. Comparing the Epic flash is much better! That's why I can see the Callaway making the move on driver face development.

Epic is the advanced version of Mavrik that fine tunes the details of the impact feel on off sweet spots. When I play Sub zero, I like when I strike on the center of the face with sweet spot that is very soft feel. Since Mavrik is more about the forgiving and sacrifices the workability and impact feel. It's similar with Taylormade SIM feedback. I think in this part, Mavrik is good but not the top 3 on feedback.

Shaft feedback - This shaft is strong and loading and unloading my power are very smooth. I can feel the tip section has a little bouncing with my releasing. Other than that, there is no typical shaft bending during the down swing and transition. It's easy to control this driver since the shaft is very smooth with light weight and regular flex, I can drive the head speed 2\~3mph fast than other two drivers. It's obvious a good setup and shaft profile.

實際測試篇開始。

另外在下桿把力量灌注到桿身，非常容易。一下就可以把身體力量放到桿身裡，有桿身的彈力感覺。加上上桿也不會有太多的重量感在手臂和身體上，使用這桿子就非常容易，桿身很聽話。雖然是R硬度，但擊球位置時，桿頭就到。千萬別小看這桿身的強度或硬度，如果你揮桿速度在100mph以內，R硬度都相當適用。

因為夏天炎熱，下場要打完18洞需要體力和球桿來配合，桿身是重要關鍵在讓你可以使用輕鬆和效能的結合。而不要認為你可以打更硬和更重，在外部條件嚴苛下，你的球桿要降一個階級才能讓你從容的發揮應該的速度和掌握力。而這隻桿身的易打和回饋都是相對優異，也是AXS家族裡的特性。

我只能說在這三隻木桿裡，用這隻的時候感覺最輕鬆，最容易去控制。當然重量比較輕，桿身的重心也對身體和手臂強度不高的球友來說，更容易去操作和控制。桿身回饋也比較其他兩隻桿身要明顯的彈力。感覺這三隻桿身都是R硬度，但AXS Red 50 R這隻更感覺軟。但軟一點都不影響控制球桿和球桿回正的擊球時間點。這是讓我佩服的地方。所以如果我下場打18洞，後9就會用這隻打。因為相對輕鬆和容易。

擊球距離和彈道 - 這桿子打出來的彈道高度，在配Mavrik的桿頭是中高的彈道，球速也很快，但球質沒有Olyss和Trono的紮實。這桿子打出去很快就衝到空中，然後落下，但Olyss和Trono是像飛彈一樣紮實穩定的飛上去，然後滑行。彈道是有不同也會影響到距離效果。

用Mavrik的時候，距離約在250碼左右。飛行距離在220～230，滾動在15～20碼左右。但我換上Sub zero，彈道就變中彈道，和Olyss和Trono差不多的彈道高度，球質變非常有破壞力。打起來的感覺超熱血。飛行距離差不多，但就落地角度是低於50度，可以得到更多的滾動距離。這是我認為桿身最大的差異。

所以桿身不是說是中彈道就在所有桿頭上就是中彈道，這桿身的彈道可以依桿頭的特性和起發角度而改變飛行軌跡。它可以是四平八穩的高彈道，也可以是燃燒小宇宙的熱血中彈道。如果你沒有可以比較的桿頭，最好可以到我的經銷商那邊去測試不同桿頭的擊球彈道結果。或是發message來和我討論。這部分的表現是中規中矩。

操控和易打性 - 這桿子讓我最滿意和從上面一直在說的就是它的容打。非常好控制和駕馭的桿子。桿身特性讓你覺得用起來就是舒服簡單。其他性能桿身就不會像這樣。因為我有三隻桿子去比較，所以容易感覺和看出差異。但以這隻桿身來說，它非常適合一般人，尤其是假日型球友。就算沒有練球，這桿子可以非常快速的拿起來，打出去。而且回饋也舒服，非常順手。

During the downswing, it's very easy to pour the power into the shaft and you would not feel any uncomfortable feel during the loading the power. Some shafts are giving you the resistance when you load your power during the downswing. Even though it's Regular flex but it would not delay the impact timing and position on the striking.

Honestly, it's the best feedback through three drivers I have built particularly playing in summer time with extremely hot temperature. This driver is able to allow you swing as easy as possible in the back 9\. Of course, I can use stiffer flex and heavier shaft weight but considering the weather and also control ability. This shaft can perform exactly I expect and intend.

Distance - This combo is easier to drive the ball to the air with mid high trajectory. The carry distance is about 220 to 230 yards with about 15 to 20 yards rolling. It's not very impressive compared with other drivers. but it's met the standard of my current distance requirement.

The ball speed is not as solid and fast as other two drivers. I think the spin rate is little higher than Olyss and Trono. Of course, this shaft profile is more likely for average golfers who don't have fast swing speed and tempo in down swing. Therefore, the trajectory is high for the ball to flight longer.

If I switch the head to sub zero, the ball flighting is changed to be penetrated mid trajectory with fast ball speed. The ball launch is lower to make the ball flight flat. Even though this shaft profile is mid high trajectory, you use different head profile will generate different result and performance. As a result, if you consider to use AXS, it's better to play it first or get the feedback from my dealers or discuss with me. It will give you some ideas for the later performance and result.

Forgiving and control - This driver is focusing on the forgiving and easy to play. The shaft weight and flex make you play easily without harsh and the driver head is able to lift the ball to the air without too much efforts. More importantly the whole setup of the driver is short and light to swing and control. Playing the summer time, this driver is my best partner to go through the whole 19 holes without problem.

完結篇開始。

但如果是其他桿身，就不是這樣。而且對身體的體力負擔是最小，尤其在高溫30度以上打球，要確保後九還有體力開球，這樣的桿子是對我相對適合。我是三隻都一樣的硬度，一樣長度，而總重和揮桿重量就這隻比較輕。這也是說，對同等級的桿身來說，它是非常友善。但它的桿身強度和效果一點都沒有打折。這對習慣打日系桿身的球友來說，是非常適合。因為你不會得到很高的揮桿重量，用起來也非常輕鬆容易，手感也真的輕鬆、舒服。

當然配置的桿頭就是決定，這桿子的易打性。如果桿頭的容錯高，Mavrik是最好配。sub zero是有點難度，倒旋低和彈道降一級。如果沒有打到桿面對的位置，球飛的高度會比較低。但整體來說，這桿身配Mavrik可以打趴市面上很多桿子。而且距離效果也不差。這是讓我印象深刻的特點。重點是只有44“長度，相當好控和發揮。

抗側旋和失擊傷害 - 這桿身好打、輕鬆，但對於失擊卻沒有像一些日系桿身那樣慘不忍睹。LAGP的桿身在今年新產品的使用感覺，都是延續以前Matrix的穩定性和抗側旋的優勢。就算是走親民友善的桿身，在抗側旋和失擊都沒有打折。一樣穩穩的把球送在球道或長草。所以我後面都喜歡用這桿子就是簡單、容易。就算沒有打到桿面甜蜜點，距離差一點，側旋的壓制力很不錯。不輸其他兩隻桿身！

通常我一開始有力量和專注力好的時候，就是用Epic/Trono組合。結果都是很爽和熱血，但後9就會換這桿子來打。體力雖然有，但想打輕鬆容易一點。就算動作稍微失誤，這桿子一樣可以控制在一個範圍內。而我這桿子還沒有掉球過。也是和其他兩隻一樣都是最多長草。可能我打的球場沒有水池或樹林。結果相當滿意！

選平地球場打球，這樣可以爽爽的試桿子。但動作跑掉，側旋的壓制力比日系桿身要好，難怪美巡賽2位大砲用AXS系列。在15碼到20碼範圍。都是可以接受，除非一開始打的方向就不對。不然都可以控制在一個範圍內。這也是我喜歡用Matrix/LAGP的桿身。至少我很有信心開球。不會想掉球或出界的狀況。

整體來說，這桿身對一般球友會是友善、好用且有效。它的性能也不差，穩定性也好。算中間偏上的產品。以它的價位來說，我覺得性價比是很高。如果配對桿頭，會是一支可以用很久的桿子。而且當天氣熱，桿身的彈性會更好。因為你的力量更容易發揮出來，桿身的彈力會更好。也不會得到高的揮桿重量來，配日系桿頭和超過45”長度都是很適合。

很久沒有讓我覺得美系桿身可以做得像日系桿身這樣的好打、舒服。這次的三隻桿身都有明顯的特性，每一支都可以讓你記住各自的特色。產品就是要像這樣明顯易懂，當你要用的時候，不會覺得這隻也可以，那隻也不錯。這是我選產品很重要的基礎，這樣才能推薦給明確的族群。現在你都可以到台北和高雄LAGP的經銷商去諮詢且試打。你會瞭解我文章說的東西。

I setup these three drivers with the same length, shaft weight and flex, this way I am able to see the differentiations then come out the idea and recommendation for the golfers. Since this combo is good for average golfers who do not have stable swing and smooth swing speed, you can handle it well with your ideal driver length and specification.

I always suggest golfers to consider the right shaft profile and weight particularly the summer time. It's extremely hot outside during the daytime for golfing, your club needs to set up with minimum driving power for such weather condition. I don't suggest to match right weight and flex for the golf shaft, it's better to lower down the weight one level and flex softer half point for summer.

In terms of control and forgiving, I would say this shaft and combo are the best among other two. Since it's lighter weight, soft feedback, and easier to handle. That's the best partner in summer time. I used to play first 9 with Epic/LA golf Trono, then back 9 switches Mavrik/ AXS Red for better play.

Mis-shot and side spin resistance - this shaft is not as good as other two in this field but still does good job on this part. The side spin is reduced significantly with rough as the worst situation. I haven't got out of bound when I play this driver. The shaft gives me the confidence to drive the ball without difficulty. Side spin control is the advantage from Matrix and now LA Golf is inherent this DNA with all the products.

Overall, I like to use this combo as it's easier to handle and the result is under my control. Of course, the distance is not the best but when you go to play, you would like your ball can land on the right spot of the fairway and green. This driver is able to offer you this expectation. Moreover, for customization, this shaft is better for you to get it longer length for balancing the swing weight.

Nowadays most of drivers are over 45" on the length, with this shaft you can make it 45.5" with reasonable swing weight result. It's similar with Japanese shafts profile in clubmaking. If you do not like to swing it too hard and carry too much loading from the driver, I think AXS Red should be the one you can consider.

This is first time I feel LA Golf shaft is similar with Japanese shaft profile but the feedback and consistency are typical Matrix/LA golf product keys. Once you play it, you will understand why the two top PGA players Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau are using AXS blue series? it's using the same platform and technology and now you are able to get something good for your wood shaft. You will know what I am talking about.
