高爾夫球桿的新特性解析！

也到了2024年的尾巴了，在這5年來也用了不少新球桿、桿身和握把，也想和大家分享自己的一些心得和經驗。現在球桿的精細度真的要比10年前的產品提升很大，這也說明，產品的生產技術和精細度真的和坐電梯一樣快。當然因為通膨導致產品價格提升，也讓產品的耐用度也沒有以前的好，不過產品的性能消耗是漸進式不是斷崖式。

我個人覺得產品本身的設計和結構是大同小異，但生產技術的提升可以讓一些產品特性得到多面性的提升。以前的技術可能就只能把一個特性給做好，其他的特性得到的效果就不是太明顯。但現在的設備、材料和自動化程度都得到明顯提升，所以在產品的生產上就可以對很多的細節和設計要求上達標。這在桿面這部分就很明顯。

以前桿面基本就一個小小甜蜜點，如果沒有精準的擊中，那效果就明顯落差。現在的桿面對於非甜蜜點的擊球效果和甜蜜點是差不多。這次是真的甜蜜點變大了，或是說多甜蜜點特性。這點在我在使用Callaway Ai Smoke和Titleist TSR 都有不錯的非甜蜜點的距離提升效果。其他的Ping G435 Max也有一樣的效果，但這桿子我只有在室內打過。

Taylormade 的Qi10我覺得沒有Ai Smoke那樣的易打，但如果打在甜蜜點真的比較遠，非甜蜜點的效果我覺得沒有Ai Smoke上的好，另外就是手感上Ai Smoke比較突出。鐵桿基本也是一樣，現在的鐵桿在非甜蜜的效果已經非常好，距離落差不大。尤其是半凹背，中空桿頭和凹背的鐵桿都是很容易打出你要的距離。

這類鐵桿對於動作的容錯率真的不可置信的高，基本上你只要把桿面碰到球，距離就自動出來。尤其這幾年的中空桿頭，設計出來的桿頭真的很好看，讓你裡子和面子都兼顧。在推桿上，我覺得差別不大。只是唯一的亮點在桿身上。現在越來越多的碳纖維推桿桿身，提升不少推擊手感和距離效果。所以推桿的升級基本在桿身這部分！

It's already the end of 2024, and over the past five years, I’ve tried out quite a few new golf clubs, shafts, and grips. I’d like to share some of my thoughts and experiences. Golf club quality has improved significantly compared to products from a decade ago, which shows how rapidly manufacturing techniques and precision have advanced—almost like taking an elevator to the next level. However, due to inflation, prices have gone up, and product durability isn’t as good as before. That said, the wear and tear of performance is more gradual, not a steep drop-off.

Personally, I think the overall design and structure of clubs haven’t changed much, but advancements in production technology have allowed for improvements in multiple product features at once. In the past, technology could only focus on optimizing one characteristic, and the effects on others were less noticeable. But with the advancements in equipment, materials, and automation, manufacturers can now meet high standards for various details and design requirements. This is especially evident when it comes to clubfaces.

In the past, clubfaces had a very small sweet spot—if you didn’t hit it precisely, the performance would drop significantly. But now, clubfaces perform similarly even on off-center hits, thanks to either an enlarged sweet spot or a multi-sweet spot design. I’ve experienced this improvement with clubs like the Callaway AI Smoke and Titleist TSR, both of which deliver impressive distance even on off-center hits. The Ping G435 Max offers similar results, although I’ve only tested it indoors.

As for the Taylormade Qi10, I find it less forgiving than the AI Smoke, but when you hit the sweet spot, it goes farther. However, its off-center performance isn’t as good, and I personally prefer the feel of the AI Smoke. For irons, it’s the same story—modern irons perform exceptionally well on off-center hits, with minimal distance loss. Irons with designs like half-cavity backs, hollow heads, and cavity backs are very easy to hit and consistently deliver the distances you need.

These types of irons are incredibly forgiving. Basically, as long as you make contact with the ball, the distance is almost automatic. In particular, the hollow-head designs from recent years look fantastic, giving you both performance and style. As for putters, I don’t think there’s much of a difference overall. The only standout improvement has been in the shafts. More and more putters now feature carbon fiber shafts, which greatly enhance feel and consistency in distance control. So, for putter upgrades, the shaft is where the real innovation is happening!

下集開始。

再來說桿身這部分，主要以碳纖維桿身為主，因為它對材質和技術要求最高。現在的碳纖維桿身在側旋和倒旋的壓制力上，真的好很多。我自己實際下場打，有些時候自己都覺得動作跑掉或觸球桿面都開掉了，但球只是稍微偏一下，沒有直接到補球區報到。在木桿類改變非常有感，桿身材質提升和技術對一些桿身回饋和性能是直接拉滿。

當然不可抹滅桿頭本身就有不錯的容錯能力，而桿身也能對變形量做到最大的壓制，進而讓一些失擊可以產生最小的傷害。鐵桿的碳纖維桿身也是同一個路徑，這點對於年紀大或揮桿節奏不快的球友，碳纖維的輕量化和手感，都是可以提升使用者對桿子的駕馭能力、動作的發揮。而對於失擊壓制力有高於以往的結果。主流品牌的碳纖維鐵桿桿身都是如此，踩雷的機會有限。

雖然這些產品特性都有不錯的進步，但對於球友來說，不是隨便拿一支新款球桿都可以開掛衝到底。因為產品的特性明確和進步，對於如何去匹配使用者的身體特性和揮桿動作就變成很大課題。以前做球桿訂製，雖然可以達到使用者的需求，但對於一些細節表現還是有提升空間。現在產品成熟度比較高，如果可以選對產品規格和設定適合的球桿規格，那效果會直接破表！

我自己在設定Ai Smoke木桿時就有這樣的驚奇結果，雖然我搭配的桿身都不是最新款的產品，但得到的效果卻讓我吃驚。打了Ai Smoke後我就和出界絕緣了，上球道的比例提升99%。主要在桿子規格是我熟悉和近5年的規格，打起來就非常容易和輕鬆。雖然是新球桿，但打起來就是像打10年以上的球桿，信心破表！

我個人認為，現代化球桿的產品成熟度越來越高，產品的細膩度也比10年前的要高太多。要把球打好、打直的任務也相對容易。但現在主要的任務是使用者本身的身體條件和動作的正確與熟練度。如果你的身體條件無法支撐你運行對的揮桿動作，那球桿也只能把問題減低，會歪的球一樣是直奔水池和出界區。練球和利用身體由下而上的轉動才是王道！

Now, let’s talk about the shaft. The focus here is on carbon fiber shafts because they demand the highest standards in materials and technology. Modern carbon fiber shafts have significantly improved in controlling side spin and backspin. From my on-course experience, there were times I felt my swing was off or the clubface opened at impact, yet the ball only deviated slightly instead of heading straight to the rough. The difference is especially noticeable with woods. The advancements in shaft materials and technology have elevated feedback and performance to an entirely new level.

Of course, we can’t overlook the forgiveness built into the clubhead itself. But the shaft's ability to minimize deformation also plays a key role, helping reduce the impact of mishits. For irons, carbon fiber shafts follow the same trend. For older players or those with slower swing tempos, the lightweight nature and feel of carbon fiber shafts enhance control and movement. Mishit suppression is also better than ever. With most mainstream shaft brands, the risk of picking the wrong carbon fiber iron shaft is quite low.

That said, while these product improvements are impressive, it doesn’t mean grabbing any new club will magically improve your game. With the clarity and advancements in modern products, matching the club to the player’s physical traits and swing mechanics is more critical than ever. In the past, custom fitting could meet basic needs but often left room for improvement in the finer details. Now, with more mature products, finding the right specs and configurations can result in game-changing performance.

For example, when I set up my AI Smoke driver, I was blown away by the results. Even though the shafts I paired weren’t the latest models, the performance was stunning. After switching to the AI Smoke, I essentially eliminated out-of-bounds shots, and my fairway accuracy shot up 99%. The key was that the club specs were familiar to me and similar to those from the past five years, making them easy and comfortable to play. Even though it’s a new club, it felt as natural as using a trusted 10-year-old one—confidence through the roof!

In my opinion, the refinement of modern clubs has reached a point where the precision far exceeds what we had 10 years ago. It’s now easier to hit straighter and more consistent shots. However, the primary challenge lies with the user’s physical condition and the correctness and consistency of their swing. If your body can’t support proper swing mechanics, even the best clubs can only minimize issues to a certain extent. Mis-hits will still find the water or go out of bounds. The key is to practice and improve your body’s rotational movement from the ground up—now that’s the real game-changer!
