給我容錯力，其餘免談/Forgiving is king for golf club！

我很早前在我的文章就有說到，現在的球桿就走一個簽王特色：易打/高容錯！而容錯在現在每年新球桿裡就是固定先發。距離雖然也是DNA，但始終焦點還是高容錯上。高容錯的另一個面向就是易打，因為球桿如果做得太難使用，會讓球友或新兵卡關，不玩了。如果你有15年前以上的球桿，你打看看，就可以知道那些桿子說白了，就是自虐工具。

從20年前的球桿就開始逐步走高容錯，以木桿類來說，桿頭從小頭300cc大小到460cc。這樣球友可以更容易打到球，別認為桿頭/桿面變大對使用沒有什麼鳥用，你如果沒有固定每週練球，看你下場敢大聲嗎？那時候桿頭的慣性MOI/moment of inertia， 也不過5000上下，但你看現在Taylormade Qi10、Ping G430 10K到上萬。

Callaway Paradigm AI smoke 也是號稱擊球桿面熱區擴大化，都是把高容錯這個招牌放大極限。我其實這7年來都固定每年用新款木桿來玩，確實非甜蜜點的擊球效果比以前要夢幻多了。距離上從以前會有20～40碼距離短少，現在基本就10\~15碼左右。所以是科技讓我開掛了。你能不補充火力嗎！這是事關面子和裡子問題，沒有妥協空間。

另外在非甜蜜點的擊球偏差率，也比以前要好，當然這也要歸功我自己的動作熟練度上，但不可否認桿面在非甜蜜點/方向偏差率上，也有效控制在“10～15”碼範圍。以前可能就直接bye了，現在都可以在樹林或長草見。我這些年用了，Titleist、Ping、Callaway、Taylormade等木桿，都確實在容錯上顯著有提升。掉球和OB狀況少到有點無趣了。

鐵桿類也一樣被附身了，在中空桿頭上，容錯就是最好代表。中空桿頭設計是和木桿類一樣，都是主體和桿面，2個零件組合而成。所以可以將桿面和主體的設計成，兼具性能和易打/高容錯的特性。所以我從15年前就沒有在用鍛造鐵桿了，都改成中空桿頭配碳纖維桿身。這樣的好處；就是性能、手感和容錯都是滿格。

Nowadays golf club development is heading to one single feature; forgiving! I mentioned that in my past articles over a decade ago. Of course distance is playing critical for average golfer but to allow golfers to enjoy the game, the golf club needs to be very forgiving since golfers do not practice a lot and have a right swing.

If you try 15 years ago golf clubs such as drivers or irons, you would know what I am saying. The forgiving plays extremely important for golf clubs particularly woods. in 2024, the newe drivers from Callaway, Taylormade, Ping they are launching the new drivers with over 10k MOI/moment of inertia feature that tell you its the maximum forgiving in the history.

The Callaway and Taylormade new drivers AI smoke and Qi10 give golfers off sweet spot better results and distance without losing the performance. What! That's the gift since most of average golfers are unable to strike the ball on the sweet spot and if you can't strike on the sweet spot, you can't get the best distance, period.

I have been purchasing the new drivers every year since 2016, the off sweet spot results slightly different with striking the sweet spot. If I play 20 year ago driver, the off sweet spot would give you big slice or hook, but I play recent 3 years drivers, I can get the result off the target 10 to 15 yards. Is it amazing!

It's really the benefit from the technology and material improvement. The forgiving feature is not only the woods but the irons as well. If you check the irons with hollow body, it's the same design as woods. There is main body and face two pieces for the head instead of one single piece of forged with extremely hard to play.

下集開始

高容錯這個招牌可以這樣響亮，還有一個原因，就是碳纖維桿身的材質強度提升。以前碳纖維桿身比較著重在桿身彈性、回饋和手感上，但在高噸位碳布的問世後，碳纖維的強度就大步向前。可以看到木桿類已經是碳纖維的天下，鐵桿也是時間問題了。在材質提升後，可以讓桿身對擊球倒旋、和側旋的壓制力、大力提升。所以你的球可以飛更遠，左旋球或右旋球的幅度也小多了。

看看現在美巡賽的選手們，開球距離和上球道率都比20年前要更好、更遠，這都是拜科技所賜！這也是我認為球友現在要做的事；就是讓球桿可以更容易和輕鬆的讓你發揮身體的力量。我自己是覺得以前和現在的距離是沒有差，但我年紀已經要50了。經過20年了，我的距離實在減少有限。這是在球桿和動作上我的提升來彌補身體力量的減損。

現在USGA和R&A已經對高爾夫球的彈性做出控制，也就是說，我們一般球友來說，影響有限，對有速度和距離的球友們，球的彈力就直接對距離效果貼上封條。而球具品牌也只能在容錯/易打上下手，這部分USGA還是認同，因為可以讓球友對高爾夫的體驗和投入不會產生太挫折，也是維持打球人口的核心藥方。

那你說要買哪款？我覺得都不錯打，最後看個人對外型和品牌的喜好來決定，但還是那句老話，這些桿子都必須要依據你的身體條件、揮桿動作來進行規格配置。你也可以用它原廠的配置，但這絕對不是這桿子的最後實力。要炸出球桿的真正效能，只有進行個人化規格才是解開球桿最後封印。

I have been playing hollow body iron for over 15 years and I love it without switching to traditional forged or cavity irons. Why? the hollow body irons give me more forgiving and performance compared with cavity and forged blade. More importantly, the hollow iron head fits better graphite iron shaft for incredible distance, feel and consistency.

We are all human being and unable to strike the ball like robot. Making mistake and off the sweet spot is part of the game, all you can do is to find the golf club to fit you make the damage as small as possible. It's the concept for you in golf club instead of picking up something fancy but not workable for your play.

With my experience, in order to get the best forgiving and performance, to fit with right graphite shaft is important. The new graphite carbo sheet is much strong than before that can help you reduce the side and back spin rates. That's why you can still play your ball after miss the sweet spot.

Honestly I works perfectly on me and all my tee shots are barely out of bound that saves me a lot of balls. That's why you need to play smart and use the new technology to help you get the best result and best score in golf game. Forgiving has been playing for over two decades and it changes your game for sure.
