Some of my friends can hit the ball damn long with Taylormade M5\. It's not just about your swing speed, power and swing, but the head inside's technologies are critical to fit your usage. There are tons of drivers in the market and it's kind of hard for average golfers to find the right one for personal use. It's easy to spend over $500 for the driver. If you upgrade the driver's shaft and re-spec, it will simply cost you over $800 for a driver. It needs to be good otherwise, the money is gone for nothing. Some Japanese drivers with less known branding, the cost will be over $1000 without the proof. When you try the new driver, it needs to be good performances such as fast ball speed, and longer air time. Good impact feel is just personal preference that doesn't mean the distance is good. That's why it's important for average golfers to pick the right driver technology in order to have good results when you play with your peers. But it may not be your Mr.right! Since we do not know the whole story and the knowledge of the technology is hard to understand for most of golfers. I am the practical person, I only believe what I have seen with all results. From what we have got for the performance of the driver, we are able to know how the technology can perform and feedback us. I do not care how the cutting edge technology inside the head, all I ask is to let me get more distance and consistency for the tee shots. Everything is related. A result of the shot is the sequence of the club to react your power and speed that is based on the scientific theories. You need to look at the details that tell you how the technology works on your swing and power with solid dynamics. Some golfers do not get good distance with Ping G410 driver, that driver head needs to have certain swing speed and power to drive the energy to the ball. You need to smash the ball hard and fast in order to get the best result. If your swing is smooth tempo with average swing speed, the head would not give you crazy distance. There are a number of the driver heads with similar technologies that needs the power to drive the best distance, but the companies do not tell you that with such condition. But I have bought it and is there something to work it out? Of course, you have to check a good clubfitter and clubmaker to help you turn around in reshafting, regrips and rebuilding the the whole specification. The bad and less experienced clubfitter would let you spend more money and get hurt with the wrong driver specification. Therefore, the right technology of the driver head is not always the most expensive or most cutting edge.
