2020 PGA show golf balls market analysis/ 高爾夫球市場 解析！

在這次的PGA展覽裡也看到不少高爾夫球的廠商參加，有大品牌和亞洲小品牌的產品。而球，不只有新的球，還有回收球。這就是高爾夫球市場的多元化。充分利用和環保特性。

這次看到的品牌有Bridgestone，Mizuno，Volvik （韓國）和其他亞洲的小廠比如韓國，中國等廠商。主要展示多層次的球款和配置Urethane軟皮的產品。畢竟是展示自己產品的技術和實力舞台。

而韓國的Volvik就是以色球的訴求來吸引大家的眼球。而大廠還是以白色比賽球為主。在戶外和室內都打了Mizuno RB Tour 4 層urethane表皮的比賽球。這是它們新的球款，球渦是無接縫設計。

球皮感覺是軟，球渦的大小球渦設計是不規則，看起來不是很規律，實際打起來，偏硬。球的硬度在100以上。適合給揮桿速度在100mph的球友使用。算是進階等級的球款。短桿切球的感覺不錯，手感沒有太硬，球的倒旋不錯，停球效果到位。

Mizuno業務也給了幾顆球讓我可以回去試。另外，Adidas展位有送另一個美國品牌Vice，這是台灣工廠代工的品牌。Vice Pro 3層urethane的球款。318球渦設計。大球心配上2層的薄皮和綠色球皮顏色。

There are many golf ball companies participated the GPA golf show. It's not only new golf balls but also the refurbish balls. Golf balls are various selections that golfers are able to pick what you want and how much you would like to get?

This time I have seen Bridgestone, Mizuno, and Volvik and other Asian golf ball makers' products. Of course, the multilayer with urethane cover golf balls are the key to present public your abilities, technology and expertise.

Korean golf ball brand Volvik concentrates on the color balls that really attract people's eyes. On the other hand, the big name companies such as Bridgestone and Mizuno are still sticking on white tournament balls. For average golfers, the color balls are more fun and attractive to play and that's good to play such color balls. Volvik's color ball strategy can catch most of average golfers on differentiations.

Regarding Mizuno new RB Tour 4 layer urethane cover ball, it's soft cover with seamless dimple design. I played it on outdoor demo day and also indoor PGA show. This ball is hard compression (should be 100 compression) and good for swing speed 100mph in driver and short game is soft feel due to the soft urethane cover. The irons and wedge chipping are good drop and stop ability. It's not fit my golf swing.

I also check some of Asian golf ball makers from Korea and China, it seems the technology and quality still have room to catch up. I think Taiwan golf ball makers have the better position on golf ball market and also OEM opportunity.

下集開始。

這款還沒有時間測試，所以後面會再找機會分享測試的心得。其他品牌的球款，看起來技術上還是有點差距。不管在表皮，球渦設計，和表面處理等，都還有進步空間。至少在球這塊上，台灣的廠商算在前段班！

這幾年，台灣幾家做球的工廠都紛紛投入到urethane表皮的產品上。設備提升、測試各種urethane原料。這需要技術和設備的投入才能做多層次和軟皮urethane的產品。但主流大廠的高檔球款都還是在美國本土生產製造。這塊台灣目前還吃不到，看看未來的發展了。

我想在過3～5年的時間，台灣廠商對urethane球皮和多層次球的技術和經驗，就會相對成熟多了。到時候可能就有機會和大廠一較長短或接一些代工商機。而台灣最大的對手就是韓國。但韓國大小分明，大的工廠實力比較好。

目前看來，多層次加urethane球皮的球款，在台灣和韓國一些工廠和品牌崛起，把這塊的產品價位拉到30塊美金一打的價位，其他大廠的對應球款在45/一打。所以接下來幾年是主要競爭的區塊。也是台灣廠商可以崛起的一個機會點！

對一般球友來說，這類進階產品價位就友善多了。當然如果你的技術高，T牌的產品還是相對穩定和高質量。但如果還沒有辦法打到球的差異能力，就可以選擇這類價格友善，性能優異和手感不錯的多層次urethane表皮的小品牌球款。

Recent 4 years, Taiwan golf ball makers jump into the urethane cover product development and productions. They purchase the new facilities and try various urethane materials to build their own recipe. I do believe it takes more 3 to 5 years, Taiwan golf ball makers are able to catch current major golf ball brands quality and performance.

Currently the major golf ball brands are still controlled the high end golf ball market shares by US companies and they are making the balls in the states, Taiwan golf ball makers are unable to grab the OEM orders for high end multilayer urethane cover balls. But who knows this situation will be changed in near future? If the market demands more less expensive high end golf balls, they will need to evaluate and find the solutions.

The multilayer urethane cover balls are the hot zone, since major brand's products sell around $45/dozen in the market and small or private label products cost $30/dozen. I do think this product will make the market change and allow Taiwan golf ball makers to have big jump in golf market.

That's good for average golfers to have less expensive high end tournament ball products. If you are good in playing the ball differentiation, it's better to stick on Titleist Pro V1s. For majority, it's good trend for us to embrace affordable tournament balls.
