Epic Max LS 木桿我用的很順手，所以也買了它的三木要來配。這是我近10年來買的第一個不鏽鋼三木桿頭。我一直都選鈦合金的桿頭或桿面的球道木，這次我覺得不鏽鋼很久沒有用了，買來玩看看。雖然球桿不少，但對於新的球道木我打算做的比較不同。就如同Epic Max LS一樣設定更為好打、好用和順手的規格。當然少不了高容錯。而這樣的設定都會和你目前看到的規格和選擇有很大不同。

現在動作也穩定，球桿的設定也著眼在，讓身體可以更容易去產生爆發力和運行動作。只要能達到這些要求，桿子就會變得異常好打，效果一點也不會打折。我逐步去跳脫現有的球桿規格框架，也看到更多的可能性和效果。這也是我不斷去嘗試不同於現有球桿框架下的原因。你會發掘到很多完全想不到的結果。

因為這些規格都是以國外的球友或選手的使用基礎下，得到的結果。我一沒有別人雄壯威武，二沒有好的先天身材，那我還用一般和目前球桿設定的模式，豈不是暴露自己的缺點嗎。而我在近10年來不斷去改變、嘗試不同的球桿設定方式，結果也讓我更有信心去做出更好的工具。至少我現在打球沒有大失誤，球桿也運用越來越順手。完全沒有適應不良問題。就算是剛裝好的新桿子一樣直接下場，打的如魚得水。

Epic Max 3木設計就是以低重心，高起發的特性。這類扁平、寬桿面的桿頭很容易打起來，容錯也高。所以我在設定這個三木著眼在，讓我可以更容易去發揮我的動作，以球道上使用為主。把球可以打出應該有的距離效果，可以滾，也可以停。桿頭扁平設計讓我看起來就比較安心，不會有使用壓力。桿面重心在中間位置，寬桿面設計，吃球更容易，下桿也更容易吃草。

至於桿身？我希望球可以是中彈道和低倒旋，所以桿身就用LAGP AXS Blue 60 S桿身。Blue就是低彈道/低倒旋，針對像DeChambeau、Dustin Johnson所開發的桿身。剛好我可以放在三木。三木是我在球道上的最好夥伴，是衝距離的最好武器。所以球要能滾、也能有飛行距離才是王道。我不希望球飛太高，可以有滾動效果。我其他的球道木的問題都是彈道高，距離很容易會短。

桿身就是一個起承轉合的關鍵。這桿身最輕就是從60g開始，所以我木桿是打不了。球道木倒是最好的選擇。我也把桿子設定在42“長度含握把。這比一般市售的5木還要短。所以用起來不會有打不好或發揮不了動作的爆發力。總重在303.6g，可以說和一般市售三木的重量差不多。有了重量，長度，設定在更容易使用，絕對可以打好。

Callaway Epic Max LS is one of my favorite drivers, it's very forgiving, performing and easy to use. That's why I get Epic Max 3 fairway 15 loft. I like the Epic Max 3W design with flat and shallow face for forgiving that moves the center of gravity to the back and low spot. Of course, the launch angle will be high that will help you get the ball to the air with the fairway striking.

Since I always play various golf courses, the gears need to be fit my swing and body. I don't intend to play the golf club with certain of ability to control and handle. I like the golf clubs for easy play feature and setup. That's why I prefer Epic Max head design for maximum forgiving and easy to play.

How about the shaft selecting? I like to make this 3W for mid trajectory and low spin for maximum distance, I pick LAGP AXS Blue 60 Stiff shaft. Since it's the lightest weight for blue type that I can't play in my driver. For fairway wood, it's perfect match for my expectation and performance.

Regarding the specification, I don't have good body and powerful muscles, therefore, I have to make the 3w to fit my swing and body condition. That's why the light weight, low swing weight and short length are the key for me to play without difficulty. I do not follow the standard or most retail golf club specifications, that would not fit my swing and body.

That's important to know yourself and try to setup the right spec for your usage and swing as the first step of personal golf club. I set it 42" which is at least 1" shorter than retail 3W and total weight 303g with similar light 3W retail club. For other data, I would not release as it's personal setup and would not lead golfers to the wrong direction.

The key is to make this 3W play as easy as possible with maximum forgiving. The average golfers need to know if the golf club particularly the fairway wood can't allow you make the mistake, it won't fit you. Fairway wood is most difficult golf club among 14 clubs. As a result, it needs to be easy to play/control, forgiving and generating your power.

我不會在去把揮桿重量和MOI放出來，因為我的設定是以我和一般球友角度為基礎，規格不會和一般你看到的桿子差不多。差很多！但打得好嗎？這就是我要讓大家知道。很多技師本身打球很少，也缺乏去嘗試不同產品和設定的動機，導致做出來的桿子都大同小異。規格差不多。完全沒有去瞭解產品特性和使用者本身的身材和需求。規格變化無窮，不可被自己給侷限。

桿頭本身重量就稍微重一點，加上桿身重心在比較前面，所以非常適合做短。我就乾脆做到以5木的長度來看看？我做好，拿在手上就覺得很好揮。桿頭放在地上就覺得很容易去操控。握把用Pure，也是讓使用操控可以達到一個最佳化。當然我桿身前段有裁切，切多少就是看個人的使用和實力決定。我也做了和以前不一樣的裁切長度，也是要看看結果如何？

先去練習場打，打6球，休息，再打6球，連續打3次。我覺得超棒！沒有打過這樣順手的三木。使用操控，以這個長度，讓我用起來真的球球吃的紮實。就算沒有打到甜蜜點，一樣可以擠壓球彈出去。每一球幾乎都是直直的衝出去到落地。滾動效果和我三鐵差不多。完全發揮我要的三木！比我其他三木要短是脫胎換骨的結果。

我最近的球桿設定都是要讓我的身體和動作可以發揮為前提，這桿子和我的driver就是會越打越好。回不去打以前那些規格了。我以前都還用比一般市售規格要短、輕和低揮重。但現在更進一步到可以控制球桿，讓身體可以完全去發揮動作和爆發力。說起來簡單，但這樣的設定需要不斷去嘗試。才能有一個基礎框架。沒有好的結果和使用感受，是無法得到一個紮實論述。

就是打起來特有信心，也不怕會打壞。桿頭回饋紮實，不鏽鋼的回饋本來就比較黏球。鈦合金材質回饋比較脆，沒有好壞對錯，都是看個人喜好。中球是整個桿頭的震動回饋，爽度滿格！也是那種會打上癮的桿子。我下場和老外並組打，老外試了，也直說太好打，而且桿子用起來非常順。距離和彈道都超猛，一比就見高下。

I used to set up the golf club's specification for golfer's profile and preference. The key is allowed golfer can make the good swing for generating the maximum power. Therefore, the golf club setup needs to address on the personal profile and do not need to follow other's rules or standard. Since people are different and the club's specification doesn't need to be the same with others.

The head is slightly heavier than other 3w, the shaft center of gravity is close to tip, as a result, this combination is good for shorter length. I go for 42" for this 3w. It's similar with 5W length and it can be your 3W for maximum control and swing. That's why my golf club's specification is different with other clubmakers.

Tipping is also importance to make the whole club play better and feel comfortable. There is no standard for tipping on fairway woods, I always check golfer's swing tempo and body condition in order to determine a right tipping range. Let's see how the Epic Max 3W will perform and feel? The grip is Pure with good and solid feel. I have been playing pure grips for decade.

I try it on driving range first and play 6 shots straightly then take a break. It repeats 3 rounds to see how it performs. The head feel great and solid, I can feel the head vibration during the striking. The stainless head gives you more feedback that burns your speed and energy. I like the feel for sure and the impact is addicting.

The launch and trajectory are low, spin is also low. The ball fly is mid trajectory with extremely rolling distance. The distance is the same with my other titanium 3w. That's impressive as it's generally shorter than titanium 3w for stainless 3w. I think it's the whole specification and shaft pushed the performance to the next level.

When I grip this 3W, I feel confident without hesitation. The fly distance is about 200 ~ 210 yards and the rolling is over 25 yards. That makes the total over 230 yards. That's met with my expectation. I play it on Bethpage green course and I gain extraordinary distance even though it's raining, I can easy to strike it solid and over 230 yards from the fairway.

這樣的桿子，我打5桿洞500碼的距離，開球和三木就可以衝到果嶺或果嶺前20碼內。下場可以更容易吃球，好打到哭。有時候我都以為我打5木。它的距離都可以穩定的落在220～245碼。和我打鈦合金的3木42.5”的規格是差不多。有時候還有驚人之舉，滾動效果會嚇人。有一次打上果嶺,走到果嶺後發現球滾出果嶺。

桿身的回饋比較硬，這是我故意。因為我希望它可以壓低彈道和倒旋更低。所以不會有不舒服，只是桿身的彈性比較沒有。但可以感覺桿身的震動感。因為我知道我會越打越好，桿身寧可做硬一點，讓使用效果和穩定性提升，犧牲一點手感是可以接受。所以連老外那種快節奏的打法，這桿子一樣可以hold的住。

打出來的球速非常快，一下球就衝到空中。因為長度很適合，會更容易把身體速度給衝出來，所以距離就是要比其他三木要更遠。我一直在強調的就是；桿子要配合你的身體和動作，發揮才是訂製球桿的核心。現在的技師都是本末倒置，人去配合球桿。為什麼要以你想要的規格去做？或是大眾規格去做？那樣的規格可以讓你打的更好？

這桿頭很適合一般業餘球友。高容錯也好起球。倒旋也低，距離效果不差。只要選對桿身和設定對的規格，會是一支很猛的三木。至少我個人使用經驗是很嗨！我用這桿子，球飛到後面至少沒有給我甩尾。桿頭和桿身真的完美組合。讓我更敢衝距離。如果它有11度的球道木，我一定要買來裝一支。唯一能說的就是手感太平凡了。

球道木是所有桿子裡數一數二的難打。所以如何讓你可以發揮你的身體和動作，才是桿子要做的任務。從44“～42”的三木我都裝過，當桿子越長，身體就需要更多的力量和協調力去控制球桿，動作一有走莖就烙賽。所以桿子設定需要完全以你個人為基礎。一支上萬的桿身，裁減到這樣的長度，很難換到其他桿頭上。所以這是需要經驗和果斷力去支持。

2022年開始，我的球桿設定有到另一個台階，當然對我自己使用是提升不少，因為挑戰不同球場，需要更順手的桿子和輕量化的裝備（要自己推車走18洞）。不然打下來會到後面沒力。北邊的球場和南部的球場是不同風格，但避免失望就是讓球桿容錯更好，至少Epic Max的容錯少到以為是打鐵桿。所以我的裝備好了，2022球季開始了！

The distance is very impressive me since I can drive over 220 yards for any condition and get to the green with par 5. Honestly speaking, it's the same performance with my other titanium head 3Ws. The point is the total distance somehow it's longer than titanium 3Ws. The rolling distance is terrifying with over 20 yards.

It's easy to roll over the green if I hit the right distance. The reason why I can get the rolling better than ever, it's the adjustment and tipping with the LAGP AXS Blue 60 S shaft. Since this shaft is low launch and low spin, I tipped it more for reducing the spin and launch even lower with my swing. It results better than I expect. That's why I always love to try new setup and new idea.

I must say the average golfers have incorrect idea for the specification of the golf clubs. Why do you think the current driver or fairway wood specification fits you the best? Have you ever tried over setup? Your body condition changes all the time and when you get older, you need to adjust the golf club's specification for making you swing better and easier.

Fairway wood is toughest golf club in golf and the setup is extremely important for you to gain the maximum result. I have tried the lengths from 44"~42" for 3W, and I am playing better on 42" than my other 42.5". Do not think only 0.5" will make things upside down, practically it's the best I have played for my 3W. I am sticking with the current specification without doubt.

To get the right specification, you will need to find the right and professional clubfitter and clubmaker who are familiar with the products and your swing well. Without these know how and experiences, it's hard to deliver the right specification at once. I would suggest you to try various lengths and setups, you are able to feel the differentiations. That's the beginning of building your own fairway wood.
