這次到Orlando PGA 測試幾支木桿都覺得不錯。先前分享了Taylormade SIM木桿的使用心得。這次是callaway 2020年的新產品Mavirk木桿。這次也在PGA室外和室內的場地都進行測試。

Callaway有自己的攤位和試了KBS、Tour AD 和Nippon shaft所配置的Mavrik木桿組合，也對Mavrik木桿有一些瞭解。也可以和大家分享和討論。其實我認為Mavrik木桿的桿頭技術和先前Epic木桿是差不多。沿用桿面AI設計，把一般球友會打到的區塊進行強化。提升手感和擊球側旋問題。

同時在桿面後方有Jailbreak設計，就是兩根棍子設計，其實這和其他品牌的桿底凹槽設計是有異曲同工之妙。因為都是著眼在擊球撞擊後，可以快速把擊球力量反送會桿面和球上。效率和球速都會提升不少。

當然桿頭的上蓋是碳纖維材質，也是有效將桿頭重量給集中在桿底部分，讓桿頭重心和容錯都可以提升雖然桿面材質是說用FS2S 鈦合金，但其實也和其他鈦合金差不多。官方說這款鈦合金是重量輕，材質強度提高的特性。反正要打過才知道。這個就瞭解就好。

整體的桿頭設計和之前的Epic差很多。這次的Mavrik桿頭設計比較圓滑和傳統。我個人比較喜歡。因為之前的epic出了兩代，我都試過但手感上真的不好所以不想去寫測評。寫了評價不好也不想的罪Callaway的鐵粉們。

With 2020 PGA Golf show, I have tried some good drivers on indoor and outdoor and shared Taylormade SIM driver review previously. This time I would like to provide the experience and experience on Callaway Mavirik driver during the PGA demo day and exhibition indoor tryout.

Callaway has its own booth and have tried with some shafts such as KBS, Tour ADm and Nippon shaft combo with Mavirik head. Of course, the shaft weights are varied and allowed me to know more detail of driver head feel and performance. This way I am able to know how to fit Mavirik driver with the best combinations for different golfer's profile.

With the Mavirik shape and appearance, I think it's similar with Epic flash and only differ on the color. The head technologies are the inherent such as AI face, two jailbreak bars and carbon crown. The technologies have been using on Epic drivers for years and it's the best for Callaway driver technologies.

Taylormade and Callaway have been using carbon composite in recent 10 years, we can see the advantages of carbon composite in woods to reduce the weight and redistribute the weight on certain spots to make the maximum MOI for forgiving. Callaway driver head is only implemented on crown and Taylormade is located on both sole and crown.

The Mavirik driver face is advanced F2S titanium with stronger and lighter feature than regular titanium. I would say you need to actual try and feel the difference of F2S titanium then you are able to know what's the different for F2S titanium face?

Mavirik head shape is more rounded and it's good for aero dynamic and I have tried Epic and Epic Flash in recent two years, the performance is good but the feel is harsh. I hope this time the Mavirik is able to make the difference.

中集開始。

因為桿頭的設計有很多的凹凸，滑塊、重量塊等，會讓桿頭的風阻、擊球手感不好。所以我對Epic的設計是敬謝不敏，謝謝再聯絡！但Mavrik把設計重回到以前的風格，沒有滑塊、沒有太多凹凸設計，這樣肯定可以有提升和高容錯。

我這次打了Mavrik、Mavrik Max兩款。我沒有試Mavrik Sub Zero，因為對那種有難度的桿頭，不是太有興趣。因為現在一堆桿頭都是好看、易打、容錯高。不太想去用那種太需要技術去打的桿子。非主流的產品就先排除，所以還是用簡單一般的款式就可以。

Mavrik和Max兩款其實都一樣，打起來手感和性能都差不多。實在感覺不出來有什麼差別。簡單說Mavrik的桿頭打起來就是一整個好打、易打。比Epic要好用多了。也是這次在PGA上，讓我比較驚艷的一款產品。因為以前也用過Epic Flash，打起來像鐵板一塊，很不舒服，這個影響一直留在心理。

以前對Callaway的印象就是性能好，但價格高、有難度、和手感鳥....但這次打Mavrik就完全改觀。因為手感這塊要比Taylormade SIM要優。可以感受到擊球擠壓的感覺，桿面的敏感度很高，中球的位置很清楚可以感受到。同時桿面彈性也比以前要好多。真的讚！

應該說是近5年來我打過的Callaway木桿裡頭，手感最好，容錯最高。因為冬天試桿子，在室外風大、又不到10度的溫度下，測試的球都硬度超過100，這款Mavrik還能維持桿面彈性，就讓我印象深刻。也算Callaway在木桿的設計有改善，之前Epic的設計就搞得太前衛，一定會和使用回饋有所抵觸。

當然我也試不同桿身重量的配置，對我來說，還是50g這個桿身級別最好，也得到最優的手感。而在性能表現上，Mavrik木桿打出來的球速和倒旋都很低。只是擊球起發角比較高，得到的彈道高度都是高彈道。不過雖然彈道高，距離卻沒有影響，表示球質和飛行效率真的沒有影響。桿頭的效率是很優！

Epic and Epic flash drivers have weight screws designs that make the heads have the difficulty of resistance in downswing and the jailbreak makes the impact so bad and harsh. That's why I don't have good image on Epic series. On the other hand, Mavrik is rounded design and smooth shape, it certainly helps dowswing aerodynamic of head moving.

I have tried Mavrik and Mavrik Max two models, I did not try Sub zero version. I am not interested in such driver as it needs more skills to work on the driver and fast speed to drive the ball hard. Nowadays, the driver needs to be easy to play, forgiving, and good performance. I think regular version driver head can do it well without question.

Mavrik and Max versions are similar, I barely identify the two drivers' differentiation. The common feedback is good feel, forgiving and good performance. You do not need to have good skills or stable swing to handle the driver, you can easily drive the ball long and high. This driver is impressive me during the PGA show.

With Epic series image, the impact feel is uncomfortable and hard to control, but now mavrik is totally different driver from Callaway. It's hard to believe this driver made by the same company. You can say mavrik is the advanced version of Rogue driver, but certainly it's not inherent model for Epic.

The Mavrik driver is good on impact feel, you can feel your squeeze the ball and the ball is jumping to the air nicely. The face does great job to allow golfer to interact during the impact, that's the best thing of Mavrik! It should be the best callaway driver I have ever played in recent 5 years.

I have tried various shafts with Mavrik head, the best fit is 50g shaft. It fits my swing and tempo that I can drive the ball long and high. The ball is easy to launch to the air with fast ball speed. The average golfers can deliver the best result with this driver without difficulty. The only concern is the launch angle is a little bit high so if you would like to drive the ball flat, it's better to use lower loft.

但這類桿子打平地球場會比較有優勢。因為性能可以衝到最高，但如果桿身的彈性被打彈了，倒旋量多了，一定會減低距離。所以我覺得需要配置中低彈道的桿身，來提升飛行和滾動效能。才能得到最好的距離效果。這種高彈道和低倒旋，在大陸型球場比較好，對於風大的海島或山地球場是一點都討不到好處。

因為一般球友本身的力量和速度優勢如果不突出，打這類桿子只有在前半年可以呼風喚雨、如魚得水。後面桿身力量衰弱了，距離肯定掉下來。也利用高彈道去的到比較好的飛行距離。所以也是一款吃桿身特性的桿頭。桿頭性能沒有話說，但桿身的特性會讓桿頭的性能表現上一個台階或掉一個台階。

再說到這桿頭另一個優勢就是容錯高，大MOI可以讓桿頭重量集中在底部，減低倒旋和提升球速。而Mavrik，在非甜蜜點位置的擊球手感也沒有太差。至少不是像Epic那樣鐵板一塊。更重要是它的側旋控制的相當到位。沒有產生大幅度的曲球出來。都是可以接受的小幅度側旋狀況。下場不會有出界的問題。

這點我覺得對多數業餘球友是非常重要。因為動作不穩定下。桿頭和桿面的容錯就是關鍵。像我在測試這些桿子時都沒有熱身，就直接給它摧下去，所以動作的釋放沒有做出來，導致球到尾端是帶一點側旋。而桿子可以不會產生大幅度曲球，就是可以把個人動作失誤問題給控制到最小。這是要給Mavrik肯定的地方。

對於飛行距離來說，我覺得它和SIM MAX是差不多。都是高彈道和飛行距離，對我來說在230碼多的距離範圍。但我用Mavrik可以得到比較遠一點，但都在5碼的誤差範圍裡。所以今年是有想要買一支Mavrik來玩玩，配置不同桿身來看看它的不同表現。

能挑的毛病就是桿頭設計有點弱。相對於其他Titleist， Ping、Taylormade的木桿外型，Mavrik就弱掉。從epic那種異次元的桿頭設計，跳到傳統風格的桿頭。這落差也太大了。當然外觀這是見仁見智。對我就有點重要。技術可以輸人，但桿子不可以弱掉！

整體來說，Mavrik是我近幾年來用Callaway木桿來說最好的一款。在性能和手感，再到容錯，它都是目前新產品的佼佼者。也算是callaway這幾年來木桿成熟度最高的一款。在過去的經驗下，把產品做得更加成熟和到位。也是我覺得Mavrik對一般球友有幫助的地方！

Mavrik driver is good to play in golf course as it is high launch head that helps average golfers to get the best flight distance. Moreover, the ball flight speed is fast and really makes your impact to the outstanding result. I would say you do not need to have good skill and stable swing to drive Mavrik. To make sure you can swing on the face of the head, the ball can deliver to the longest and highest on the air.

If you play in mountain or link course, the wind is big killer for Mavrik, the high trajectory will make the ball flight shorter with strong wind. I would suggest to select the right shaft is critical for average golfers. The head is good in performance, to fit the right shaft profile can make your ball flight stable and solid. Nowadays shaft materials can make the ball flighting better and reduce the back and side spins. Or even pick the low launch shaft to make the ball flight flat.

Meanwhile, Mavrik head is also outstanding on forgiving with high MOI feature, the head weight is concentrating on the sole to make the impact more efficient and productive. Even though it's not striked on sweet spot, the ball has small side spin to the end. That's acceptable as we all make the mistake and the head can make the misshot to the smallest damage.

That's important feature for the driver, as we are not performing the best and stable and the club needs to help us work out the problem and mistakes. I believe Mavrik is good head to help us solve the personal problem with our swing.

With the distance, I think it's similar with Taylormade SIM MAX driver. I would say Mavrik is slightly longer distance than SIM, but it's only about 5 yards differentiation. That's nothing I can complain but only the shape is kind of traditional design compared with other products.

I would say Mavrik is the best driver in recent 5 years of Callaway drivers, the performance, forgiviing and feel are the best in callaway lineup. You can say it's the advanced version of Callway Rogue. If you would like to get the best performance and result, you need to fit the right shaft to make the Mavrik become a monster. Mavrik is surprised me and it's worth to try in 2020.
