Cherry Creek Golf Links Course長島的高爾夫球場!

在美國6月的第二個星期天是父親節，我也要給自己一個父親節一個禮物，就是打場球。選了Cherry Creek Golf Links球場，在長島的尾巴，靠海邊。開車從法拉盛要1小時20分鐘時間，雖然有點小遠但都是一條高速開到底。訂早上11:40開球，10點從家出發，都還綽綽有餘。在美國打球，習慣打10～13點的球。因為早上可以做點事，吃東西，不會趕，下午5點前可以到家。

更重要紐約的四季分明，就算是現在夏天，溫度不會太熱，風是涼爽舒服。打起球來真的超棒，不需要像台灣那樣要趕早，不然太陽出來就芭比Q了。今天打球真的很舒服，有風溫度就22~25度，太爽了。週日就是人多，我和一個父親帶2個孩子一起打。孩子都已經20多歲，年輕力壯，開球就是炸裂、全力衝刺！

Cherry creek golf links不是林克斯球場，是典型平地球場，就是德州風。距離長、果嶺大、沙坑多、長草讓你找不到球。今天狀況不是很好，球不是在沙坑就是在長草裡，木桿也是進長草多，有一球還找不到球，一球是打到樹、彈到隔壁的練習場。但好處是你走在長草，仔細看都可以找到球。我掉2個球卻撿到5個球。後來送給同組笑連欸。

今天打白tee，因為人多，前面後面都有滿滿的組別，而且前面一組還是5個人，打的就像LTE網速，我們這組比較能打，基本都有距離但準度在及格邊緣，沒有什麼在找球，常常都是在等前組。在美國打球真的很少這種狀況，下次還是打平日，身體才不會熄火。也很久沒有和技術、距離不錯的人打，反而有點打不開。開球都打卡特球/Cut，彈道也偏高，距離就短。

今天開球用stealth，真的不會打。今年都是用Titleist TSR2或Callaway Rogue，就是給260～280碼，今天就烙賽剩230～250碼！難怪打的吃力。這個球場打白tee也超過6500碼距離，輾壓別家的藍tee。Par 4的洞都是至少350碼，Par 5 500碼起，Par 3的距離沒有看到低於150碼。還有最後一洞是Par 6 612碼，花了4桿才上去。打了有點暈了！

問題在自己的節奏亂了，因為我走路，他們開球車。就算球亂飛，只要夠遠就好，加上沒有水池或出界區，他們基本就開掛無敵到底。所以11號車，追不上4輪的。本想讓他們先走，我和下一組一起打，但下一組也是4個人，也沒辦法擠。導致節奏就鬼打牆，動作上下半身卡頓。沒失誤才見鬼！還好我偏心都在長草區，但第二桿的難度就跳級，第二桿不是下沙，就是果嶺邊的長草。

Today is Father's Day. Of course, I have to give myself a Father's Day gift: a round of golf. I choose Cherry Creek Golf Links, located at the tip of Long Island by the sea. It's a 1 hour and 20-minute drive from Flushing, which is a bit far but it's all highway driving. The tee time is for 11:40 AM and left home at 10 AM, so I had plenty of time.

When playing golf in the States, I prefer to tee off between 10 AM and 1 PM. This way, I can take care of things in the morning, have a meal, and not feel rushed. Plus, I can be home by 5 PM. In the summer, the temperature is comfortable with a cool breeze. It's really great for golfing, unlike in Taiwan where you have to start early to avoid the scorching sun. Today was perfect, with temperatures between 22-25°C (72-77°F), and a nice breeze.

Cherry Creek Golf Links isn’t a links course; it's a typical flat course. It has long distances, large greens, a number of bunkers, and thick rough that can make it hard to find your ball. My game wasn’t great today; my ball ended up in bunkers and thick rough, and my wood shots often went into the rough. I even lost a ball and had another bounce off a tree into the driving range next door. On the plus side, you can often find balls in the rough if you look carefully. I lost two balls but found five, which I gave to my playing partners.

I played white tees. Since it was a Sunday, the course was crowded. There was a group of five players ahead of us moving slowly. My group was decent, with good distance but barely acceptable accuracy. We spent a lot of time waiting for the group ahead. Next time I’ll play on a weekday to avoid this.

I used the Stealth driver today, but it wasn’t working well. Normally, I use a Titleist TSR2 or a Callaway Rogue, which give me 260-280 yards distance. Today, I was only getting 230-250 yards. This course's white tees total over 6500 yards, which is longer than other courses' blue tees. Par 4s are at least 350 yards, Par 5s start at 500 yards, and no Par 3 is under 150 yards. The last hole is a 612-yard Par 6, which took me four shots to reach the green. I was not easy course honestly.

My rhythm was off because I walked and needed to catch up their carts. Despite erratic shots, their distance made them unstoppable since there were no water hazards or out-of-bounds. I struggled with my lower body movements, leading to many mistakes. Fortunately, my errors were mainly in the rough, making my second shots much harder.

下集開始

這個球場沙坑真的坑人，沙子硬，不容易吃進去。有2次都無法把球送出來，打起來就很挫折。球道和果嶺邊都一堆沙坑，稍微一偏就要去帕沙了。另外果嶺就是大，狀況不錯，但速度在8.5左右，不快，我路線都抓的不錯，只是力道和距離就是差一點，好幾次都可以一推收，最後第17洞的3桿洞，4公尺左右給它一推抓鳥。

它的果嶺也不容易，有高低起伏，幾個洞還把旗桿插在斜坡上，那就容易3推，我今天有3次3推。但我覺得以今天狀況和沒打過來說，已經可以了！因為這個球場球道也寬，但長草都有2個球高度，不容易脫困。桿頭容易被草給絆住，導致距離短不少。要再一桿才能送球到果嶺去。另外、短桿今天打到懷疑人生！

切的距離都很跳tone，我用groundworks SM-F，這桿子打2次都很烙賽！因為它的桿頭設計很鳥，桿頸底部，一般桿面會收下來，接桿頸。但它卻沒有讓桿面接桿頸底部收小，反而是一片連接桿頸。我用起來就很噁心，一直看不順，就一直打不好。要不就吃深、要不就敲到球，怎麼爛就這麼打，氣到要折桿子了。好像回到剛開始打球第一年，那種不會短切狀況。還是打回Anthem或Vega好了。

美國平地球場就是長，球道寬、果嶺大，如果你沒有距離就別自虐，但不要以為球道寬就放心，你很容易找不到球，或攻果嶺要3桿才能上。這是需要硬實力，沒有距離灌水，也就是沒有什麼狗腿洞走捷徑。如果你球會亂飛，準度偏心大，會打到哭。而且最好要坐車打，不然一定會搞到你提早收工。今天節奏被帶著走，導致狀況差到無語，需要修正。

訂了Callaway AI Smoke來，最近打Taylormade的桿子都對沖。還是Callaway和Titleist和我八字比較合。木桿很久沒有這樣沖擊我的信心。其實我從之前用Stealth就比較容易失心瘋，順手度和失擊傷害來說，都是Callaway和Titleist最穩。所以我很少用Stealth，看來，以後還是把目標鎖定在Callaway和Titleist上。還以為我來到平行世界了，木桿開到失憶症。

應該桿面材質為碳纖維，所以沒有一定的速度力量去擊球，距離不來就算，而且桿頭也不容易回正，所以球一路偏。 算了，等級不到還是別碰TM木桿了，年紀大了，已經不想用力打球。再用下去，自己的動作又跑掉，得不償失。所以桿子是有個性的，配不起來就不要硬用，搞到走火入魔就粗啊賽。慎之！

The bunkers here are tough, with hard sand that’s difficult to get out of. I got stuck twice, which was frustrating. There are plenty of bunkers along the fairways and greens, and if your shot veers off, you’re likely to end up in one. The greens are large with good condition, but not fast, around a speed of 8.5. I read the lines well but my distance were slightly off, leading to many near misses. I did manage to sink a birdie putt on the 17th hole, though.

The greens have significant undulation, with some flagsticks placed on slopes, making three-putts common. I had three three-putts today. Considering my condition and the fact that I hadn’t played this course before, I think I did alright. The fairways are wide, but the rough is thick, making the second shot difficult. The clubhead often gets tangled in the grass, shortening the distance significantly, and you need another shot to reach the green without doubt. My short game was terrible today.

I used the Groundworks SM-F wedge, which was awful. The design of the clubhead was weird, with a connection that didn’t taper at the bottom. It felt awkward to use, leading to poor shots. I was either hitting too deep or skimming the ball, which was infuriating. It's like my first year of playing golf when I couldn’t chip properly. I would switch back to my Anthem or Vega wedges.

This course is long, with wide fairways and large greens. If you lack of distance, this will be the nightmare without question. Don’t be fooled by the wide fairways; it’s easy to lose your ball or take three shots to reach the green. It requires solid skills and distance, with no shortcuts. It’s best to use a cart; otherwise, you’ll tire out quickly.

I’ve ordered a Callaway AI Smoke driver. Lately, I’ve had issues with Taylormade Stealth driver. Callaway and Titleist seem to best fit on my swing. Using the Stealth driver often results to inconsistent shots, with Callaway and Titleist providing more reliable performance. I’ll stick with them from now on. Using a driver that doesn’t fit me messes up my game and isn’t worth it.
