練習球和比賽球的差異！

高爾夫球有兩種，一種為比賽球，另一為練習球。顧名思義就是用途上的差異。練習球自然就是在練習場為主的使用。比賽球就是下場打球專門使用的目的。而因為用途的差異，在球的本質上就有差異。

而台灣的練習場用的球，簡單說就是要便宜，它無法給你性能，最好打不破、性能爛到爆。你要賣它性能好的球，它不需要！更重要，練習場是補球不是換球。投幾籃球，還特別把新球擺在一邊，等下要用來打driver。每次在練習場就看到一堆球友們，練球就像苦力一樣。享受不到擊球爽度和性能效果。

練習球要提供給球友們類似實際下場的感受和擊球的樂趣。當然它的核心在於耐打和便宜。這對於練習場的老闆來說很重要。因為球不耐打，價格高，就很難賺錢！球打幾次就破，就要不停補球，練習場還賺啥！而對於一般球友來說，這也會是影響你在練習場打球的擊球結果。

練習球因為要耐打，和便宜，自然在材質和結構都要滿足練習場需求。所以會犧牲掉一些擊球的手感或性能表現。也就是說在練習場的球，其性能和手感表現都會和你下場的球無法相提並論。同時也因為練習場的特性，在亞洲和歐洲的練習場，因為場地空間有限下，球的性能不能太好，不然球很容易飛出網子。

如果你有拿練習場的練習球下場比較一下，你會發現，練習場的單層練習球，飛行效果沒有雙層和多層的比賽球要遠。這就是核心差別。因為要耐打和便宜，自然會有這樣的結果。練習球本來就是不是要做飛得遠的目的。

當然在北美的練習場都比較大，沒有空間的限制下，他們的練習球都是雙層的結構，性能表現上也不會輸一般市面上的雙層比賽球。當然這樣的球款在耗損上就會比單層的練習球要高。不過美國的練習場收費也比較貴，對於練習場的經營成本就有幫助。

There are two types of golf balls, one is tournament ball, the other is the range ball. You are able to know the ball's differentiations through the product name due to the usage of the ball. The range ball is developed and used on the driving range for golfers to practice. You play the tournament balls in the course.

The driving range balls are good on durability and cost. However, there are two kinds of the range balls you can find on various driving ranges. One is the single layer range ball and the other is two layer range ball. In general, one piece range ball is most used in Europe and Asian since the lands are limited, most of driving ranges do not have plenty of the space.

Thus 1 piece range ball is good on the durability, limited distance and cost. The USA has plenty of the space on driving ranges, they use 2 layer range balls for seeking performance as tournament ball feature. Of course, 2 layer range ball cost is higher than 1 layer ball. The charges of playing in driving range in the USA is higher than Asian and Europe.

Durable is the key for range balls. Since it is the core product for driving range in the business and if the balls are easily broken after certain of usages, that will increase the costs of the operation for driving ranges. That's why the range balls need to be durable and affordable. On the other hand, golfers need to add some yardages on the woods and irons when you practice on the driving range.

You play tournament balls on golf courses and the performance is absolutely better than the range balls in driving range. That's why tournament ball is seeking the performance for golfers and it will result in better distance during your play in the course.

所以當你在練習場打的結果，千萬別投射在你實際下場結果。不然會慘不忍睹、東倒西歪。因為會影響你的選桿和判斷距離。在木桿會有20～30碼的差異，鐵桿會有10碼上下的差別。在都市裡的練習場都比較小，用單層練習球，距離會比下場用的2層或3層比賽球要短。因為這和你實際下場是有差別。

比賽球自然是大家比較瞭解和熟悉的產品。它的球款和複雜度都很高。因為球友的特性和需求都千奇百怪。為了滿足大家的需求，所以球款有很多選擇。包含，球的硬度，材質、結構、球渦設計、彈道飛行和價位等。也不是說名牌或球星用的球款就是適合你。絕對不是！反而和你八字不合。

但還是有超過半數以上的球友對球的選擇都是一知半解。反正朋友覺得好的，買來用肯定錯不了。多數的球款都是以歐美使用者為設計的產品。對於亞洲球友來說都過硬。大家必須要瞭解一個基本觀念：球的核壓，是一個讓球飛行效率發揮的關鍵。

如果你的速度和力量無法在擊球時，對球產生一定程度的擠壓效果，這樣球本身在飛行過程中，就無法得到足夠能量和最好的距離效果。所以核壓的選擇是首要和關鍵。不管是幾層的球款，如果你的速度力量無法駕馭和產生足夠的擠壓效果，那就算再貴、再好的球一樣是對牛彈琴，毫無效果。

當然對於現在流行的表皮材質，對於短桿的停球力有一定的效果。但對比價格和你的技術能力，就是一個關鍵。這還要配合球渦設計才能得到最佳效果。所以不是用優立辛/urethane的球皮就特屌、飛特遠。其實一些surlyn也有軟皮設計，效果更適合一般使用者，而價格也友善。

If the ball is hard, your speed and power are unable to compress the ball, you won't get the good distance and feel for the play. Being practical to select your golf ball instead of following people's inputs or marketing trend.

The ball cover is the second thing you need to care. Now there are two materials for golf ball cover, one is surlyn and the other is urethane. The difference of these two cover materials is the softness. Urethane is softer than surlyn and the cost is higher than surlyn. However, the cover material is not all, it needs to fit with the dimple design in order to deliver the best result of the play.

比賽球裡還有回收球的選擇。因為很多球友造福鄉里，球都是打飛掉，不是打壞掉。產生很多的回收球。但回收球的質量和性能都無法和新球相比。因為你無法瞭解球的內部結構，和是否有產生化學或物理變化？這就是你要去思考的問題。

對於比賽球是否會打破。一般來說是比較困難，除非是質量有問題，或是你天生神力。不然一個比賽球要至少承受200～400下的撞擊是最起碼的標準。而多數的球友可能打不到100下，就換球或掉球。因為比賽球的表皮很容易磨損。如果你打了100下，不是球不能打，而是表皮已經磨損到一個程度需要更換了。

磨損球皮最大的殺手是鐵桿和挖起桿。因為桿頭表面有銳利的凹槽，要製造球的倒旋量，必然會和球表面產生摩擦，球皮的漆會先磨掉，再來皮本身。而球皮磨損，對於球的滾動路徑和飛行軌跡，產生影響和變化。所以比賽球都是更換，不是打壞或打飛。

所以結論是：比賽球是用來提升你擊球表現的目的，不是要讓你省錢或打爽用！要打爽去練習場打練習球，健身、練動作。同時，不是比賽球就一定要死貴、優力辛球皮。誰說單層或雙層Surlyn球就飛不遠，沒有手感？一些廠商用的假外宣、偽事實的資料來誤導大家。

一些人沒有那種屁股，卻吃那種瀉藥！高估自己能力。球不是炫富的工具。循序漸進的選用適合自己的球，才能享受到高爾夫的本質。基本上球是相對簡單，但要複雜也很複雜。大家都可以在我的網站上找到一些球的分析和測評內容。當然每個人都不同，需求也因人而異。有問題都歡迎交流討論。

Due to the iron head face grooves, it creates the ball spins but also gives the ball surface for certain damages. Of course, you can keep using it but the rolling and flighting would not be stable and consistent.

The conclusions are: tournament ball is to help you boost your performance, it's not saving the money or play for fun. You can go to the driving range to play fun, drills or excise. You do not need to select expensive or most cutting edge golf balls. Evaluating your personal skill and swing consistency is the way to pick the right tournament balls.

Good golf tour balls with multilayer and urethane cover do not mean it's expensive! average golfers need to check various golf balls in order to know which ball types fit your swing and power? The one layer or two layer ball with surlyn cover can be good performance and soft feel as well. Performance ball is not equal to multilayer and urethane cover. That's the wrong message from ball makers!

Let's be realistic! Some of two layer surlyn cover balls are good for average golfers to play and you can enjoy the performance and feel at the same time. More importantly, it's not expensive as well. Trusting yourself instead of company's product campaign is the key for ball selection.
