10月了，進入秋天又是打球最好的季節了。紐約9月下了不少雨，還淹水，有點像台灣的梅雨季下了2週。很慘! 所以身體也需要重新調整、動一動了。10月的天氣真的清爽宜人，今天早上大太陽的就和我說；打球了，直接給自己放假，安排打球！有一個多月沒有打球，身體都癢了，上網看看有什麼球場可以來活動筋骨？選了和上次打middle bay附近的林克斯/Links球場，Lido球場！

沒錯！我8年前有來打過這個場子，水池遍佈、距離雖然只有6500多碼/藍tee，白tee6100多碼，但非常需要準度。尤其現在秋天，正是海風強力掃蕩的時候，打起來特別有感覺。之前打是暑假時間，風不會很大，現在動作也相對穩定多了，所以再來挑戰Lido。這個球場基本上都是local人打比較多，因為位在長島南邊Jones Beach靠海位置，開過來不到20英里，40多分鐘，如果不是喜歡海濱球場的人是不會過來。

Lido有點與世隔絕，沒有加入網路訂場平台，很老派，所以你很難搜尋到。另外官網也沒有線上刷卡機制，對很多人來說就直接跳過。我因為有打過，也喜歡這種難搞的場子，直接到它們網站去訂場。到球場看到它們會所拆了，停車場也縮水，會所和賣店就2個40呎櫃子，有點傻眼。算了直接去賣店付錢、開打！這球場的特色就是整個平平的，沒有什麼樹，很典型的海濱球場風格。

先別爽，它的長草長，水池多，就足夠把你給搞得人仰馬翻，球進長草找的到球，算球帶天命。我11點開球、和其他2位在地人一起併組打，他們剛好可以幫我導航。今天的風勢有點大，內心的小宇宙就開始澎湃。很像打台灣北部海岸線的球場，到了冬天那風，大到會把人吹的人仰馬翻。沒有風的海濱球場就無趣，今天天氣好，風真的爽到心坎裡。因為和別人併組打我也和他們一起打白tee。距離上不是問題，但有風狀況下，開球都是木桿來掃。

刻意帶Titleist TSR2配Ventus TR 黑管，打低彈道，才是王道。基本上第二桿就是P桿 來解決，也不少400碼的4桿洞，但都可以2桿上，只是今天短桿很鳥，一些第二桿落在果嶺邊都切的不好。加上果嶺大多是砲台式，不容易停球。今天下沙2次，但第一次打就打不出來，因為沙坑是硬的像水泥，可能之前下雨把沙坑下壞。沒有重新翻過和加新的沙，所以我第二次就不打了，因為第二次下沙，沙坑還有積水，就直接把球拿出來。

這個球場難點有，果嶺都被沙坑給包圍，如果準度沒帶上，下沙很容易。因為今天風大很多距離都需要加大，所以我用不少中鐵來送上果嶺，也是經驗加持，不然肯定短很多。今天掉3給球，有一洞5桿洞，第二桿連續用5木都打偏了，結果都下水。因為果嶺右邊是一片水池，所以我現在都不當英雄，直接去補球區打。重新打的結果都會大腦發熱，烙賽！

It's October, the weather is the best of the year, of course I gear up my golf clubs and head to play. It's been raining since mid of September, October is getting better with lots of sunshine. The temperature is perfect, nothing needs to say, just book the tee time to play on Friday morning. I pick Lido golf course which is nearby Jones beach for driving 45 minutes from Flushing.

I play this course about 8 years ago and this time, I would like to enjoy this course with all my skills and golf experience. The club house is under construction, there is temporary pro shop and check in for golfers. Also the parking area has two different spots. In general, this course is really local and there are a number of local golfers to stop by.

Most of golfers are using push cart for walking, I need to get more sunshine and refill the energy. Walking is good for me. The tee time is 11am and team up with other 2 local golfers for today. It's good to have them as my GPS and mapping since I really don't remember the details of the course but I do know this course is tough as it's a typical links course style.

The white tee is over 6100 yards and blue is over 6500 yards. Today is very windy that makes the challenge becomes a monster level. I pretty much use driver to tee sho but I all hit low since it needs to get more distance with low trajectory in windy day. Some of my tee shots land on the rough due to the strong winds. It's very hard to calculate the effect of the winds and that's the fun part of current lido.

I would say there is no big difference between front 9 and back 9. Although some of the fairway is wide open but that doesn't mean you can get your ball easily. If the ball is landed in rough, you can't find it for sure. I have lost about 3 balls today without finding the balls. The key is to bring your accuracy with woods and irons. The distance is not long but it's all about the ball landing location.

這球場雖然沒有樹林，但比有樹林的要難搞。它的長草真的很難找到球，也不容易打。我找不到球3次，也在長草區撿了有7、8個球，好的球我自己留著，其他我不打的球款，就送給同組球友，讓他們減少損失。掉球正常，大多是找不到球，下水是刺激賣店生意。另外它的球道設計大多是狗腿洞，真的需要打落點，雖然要快2個月沒有碰球桿，動作還是穩穩的。可以控制在自己要的落點範圍，所以第二桿打的就容易一些。

果嶺是這個球場的另一個特色，有大有小、有層次高低落差、超迷人。一來不少果嶺是砲臺式果嶺，要打上需要有技巧，同組球友比較有經驗，都是切edge上去，像臺灣北部球場的打法。另外果嶺本身有不少地形起伏，斜坡設計，推起來的難度馬上跳趴！今天的果嶺速度很慢大約6、7左右。但我也有2洞長推入袋，心情上就很爽！

只是有些果嶺不是很平整，推起來像乒乓球一樣，跳來跳去。如果果嶺速度可以在9以上，我覺得會很好推。整體來說，前9和後9的差別不大，後9的水池比較多，也有幾洞長洞，球道很寬，但沒有打上球道，基本很難找到球，而且長草不容易脫困。我明明看到球落點彈跳，就是找不到球。心理XXX！因為這個球場的球道都會有一個白色200碼樁，按讚！都是朝這個樁打，以這個樁的距離來抓果嶺。

以前覺得掉球是球技烙賽，但在美國必須改變這個觀念，掉球正常，不代表你技術蹩腳。因為美國大多是自助，沒有球僮/GPS協助看球、找球。就算你有一雙火眼金睛，一樣鬼打牆！美國人大多不會找太久，直接補球。我也入境隨俗，因為我也會撿到一些球，就是就換球概念。所以賣店賣2手球是普渡眾生、如果你是90桿以上，順手拿一袋，才不會提早收工。

現在有測量距離雞斯，就比較少用目視來抓距離。但今天覺得目視比測距要準，只是風大需要抓對距離差，選桿是關鍵。有一洞，用三木差點打穿果嶺，最後落在果嶺後面長草，差一點就下水，因為後面是海。整個來說，我還是很喜歡這個球場，雖然有點遠，但打起來有挑戰也可以賞心悅目。因為海景很美，是解壓的好地方。

另外就是這個球場大多是在地球友來打，很多人都是推自己的球車打，相對其他球場大多是開球車打，我覺得這個球場相對對走路打球比較友善。所以打下來一樣是4個小時，大家都打的很快，很舒服的一場球。現在大多都是打自己覺得不錯、喜歡的球場，可以紓壓、又可以練球。這是在美國打球最好的地方！就是生活高爾夫。

There are many water hazards in this golf course, I get in the water twice in the same hole with second shot to the green. All make it right on the water. Since this course is next to the ocean and the view is fantastic as Middle bay. I love to play links golf course that you can really catch the great views and let your mind calm and relax.

The green size is big for most of holes but some of them are small. there are many turret style greens through out the course, I am able to see the golfers chip the ball and land the edge of the green and stop close to the pin. That's the best way to get one put to close the hole. My iron shots is high trajectory and I am not worry about the iron shot to roll over the green. It's normally drop and stop.

My short game sucks today since I have no confident to play the short chipping and there is almost 2 months I haven't played golf. It makes my short game confident becomes zero! The putting is like usual with 2 long putts in the hole. The issue of the greens is slow speed. I think it should be 6 to 7 of green speed, if it can be 9 or 10, it's the best.

The sloped or tiered greens has different slop and you have to read the green with grass pattern and turning point. I have got 2 putts most of the cases, 2 holes have 3 putts. I would say Lido's green condition is not good as the ball rolling is jumping up and down. It's obvious over used condition. Others are very standard.

The bunker is ok but can't dig in since most of bunkers are still wet and water inside. I get in twice and can't play at all. Overall this course is fun and I love to play again. It needs to bring all you have for all kinds of golf skills, experience and knowledge in order to make the right play. Particularly the windy day is hard to make the shot accurate.

The course is very good for golfers who walk through the 18 holes. Most of golfers are living this area so they walk it like go to the park. Other golf courses in long island are hard to see the walking golfers. I like this style and enjoy the Friday golfing day. I am sure I am going to play again.
