Mizuno Pro 225 鐵桿！

今年下半年推出的Mizuno Pro 225 鐵桿，外觀實在太線條了。絕對的刀背魂，看起來就是神兵利器！而我自然也下手購入，這是我第一次擁有Mizuno鐵桿。說實在我以前都有去試Mizuno鐵桿，但實際用的結果還和我的預期有差距。但這套有種讓我毫不猶豫的下手。當然買下來後就是重新的配置新桿身和規格重置。讓這套鐵桿可以讓我發揮的更好、打起來可以如魚得水。

基本上，這鐵桿桿頭的設計是2種，也就是2鐵～8鐵是2片式，從桿頸到桿面這是一整塊，然後背部，2個組件。當然它們在桿底有加入鎢合金的重量塊，可以把桿頭的重心壓低。另外9鐵到P桿的設計就是桿頭和底背的不鏽鋼重量塊。這和我一直使用的中空桿頭來說是有不同。這款比較傳統桿頭設計，也是我想要拿來和我其他中空桿頭的對比組。

好看的桿頭和實用的桿頭來進行比較。當然用的桿身都是一樣，規格也是差不多。這樣用起來就可以完全去瞭解和感受差異。這桿頭就像一款法拉利，線條感實足，絕對吸睛。但好打嗎？要試了才知道，希望它可以打破我對Mizuno固有的印象。當然它們官方說；桿面薄，可以提升球的速度，設計基本也和中空桿頭一樣。所以性能上也應該要和目前鐵桿主力的中空桿頭類似。

我目前手邊有3套不同特性的鐵桿，TM M5 半凹背的口袋型鐵桿、Titleist T200 中空鐵桿、和這套Pro 225. 三種鐵桿桿頭的設計都不同，但都是2片式組合，桿面和主體。都是強調桿面優化和彈性去發揮性能效果。而這三套的規格類似，同時桿身都一樣。因為我刻意要設定類似，這樣用下來身體才能最快去發揮球桿效能，進而瞭解產品的差異。

Pro 225 鐵桿我是配置最新款Golf Pride CPX橡膠握把。灰色配合上不同的紋路設計，讓握感上提升到最好，我之前用不少Golf Pride握把，覺得CP2 Wrap握把是最軟，但直到用了CPX後，這個位置就換人。同時用了一個多月下來，握把表面的耗損也沒有以前用golf pride那樣大。看來Golf Pride是對材質的使用有很大的進步或提升。

Mizuno 2022 new iron set Pro 225 is getting my attention. The appearance is so muscle like blade, I can't complain anything for the design then just get it. I have been trying Mizuno irons for years but none of them is my lineup but this time Pro 225 is certainly met my expectation on appearance. The next step is to reshaft and build my own iron specification.

I use the same shaft with my other iron sets such as Titleist T200 and Taylormade M5 and set the similar specification. It will help me get the best result on performance, feel and swing. I need to set the irons with similar setup and specification then there are the right results on performance and feel. I am going to share what I have got on the following.

The Mizuno Pro 225 iron set has two kinds of head designs, one is 2 pieces set from 2i to 8i. The neck to the face are one piece and the main body has tungsten weight 28g on the back with low center of gravity advantage. It will help golfer drive the ball easily to the air for best trajectory. The face is forged by Hiroshima, Japan with thin face.

In short, it will drive the ball speed as fast as your swing. The thin face is nowadays hollow iron head advantage, now the Pro 225 is not just forged for better feel but also thin face to drive the initial ball speed to the maximum. How about the 9i to P? It is still 2 piece design with main body and back weight piece.

The 9i to P design is just addressed on the back weight to help golfers drive the ball easily and simple. Nothing is important technology or material on it. The key of Pro 225 is on the thin face design for increasing the ball speed! That's all these technology and thin material about.

This time I use Golf pride new grip CPX, it's rubber material but the feel is the greatest I have played with golf pride products. CP2 wrap should be the softest grip from Golf Pride line up, but after using CPX, I think CPX is the softest with my golf pride grips. Playing almost 2 months the grip is still okey for durability.

中集開始。

CPX的握把應該是我用過的Golf Pride握把裡最舒服，但它並沒有犧牲掉止滑力。意外的，它用起來，握得非常紮實和牢固。應該是它表面紋路設計讓手套可以更容易去抓。特殊的紋路讓握起來，可以把握把表面的空氣給壓下去，讓手套和握把彼此產生吸力。所以我對這款握把的驚訝度是最高。而且用1個多月下來，表面都沒有磨損，這點也是不錯！

桿身一樣是用LAGP tour AXS 85 S，這款桿身的性能特好，球速快，抗側旋優，同時也兼具減輕整體重量，對於想打的輕鬆和發揮身體力量，這樣的桿身效果是最好。至少我在T200和M5上都得到不錯的效果。當然手感上沒有日系Fujikura MCI那樣的彈力回饋。而它的桿身韌性卻非常棒。對於鐵桿來說，我更在乎穩定性和抗側旋能力。

這鐵桿打起來，我實在覺得不是那樣好打。桿面回饋上沒有T200的紮實和M5那樣的桿面彈力。十足是鍛造桿頭的回饋。但甜蜜點也沒有我其他日系鍛造桿頭那樣的軟綿，中球是脆脆的感覺。應該說和我打其他Mizuno桿頭的回饋是一樣。不是它的問題，這是典型Mizuno鐵桿的回饋，這也是我一直都覺得Mizuno鐵桿是好看，但不好打的產品。

而且這款桿頭最好在設定揮桿重量在D2以上。這樣比較可以發揮桿頭效果。太輕的揮重對於桿頭的中球不會太好，而且不容易去操控桿頭中球的軌跡。雖然我打起來性能上真心不錯，彈道是這三套裡最低，整體距離是和其他2套差不多。但手感和操控真的是最差。我感覺不出這套桿頭的壓低重心效果，和打鍛造桿頭是一樣。應該說非常失望！

我的動作一樣，打法也一樣，桿子的規格設定也是差不多，但打起來就完全不在狀況，很難打到甜蜜點。它非常要求動作的精準度。動作太大、多餘對於這套鐵桿的中球不會好。嚴格來說，這是套對低差點的球友的鐵桿。吃球的桿頭和動作釋放要非常到位，才能把桿頭角度發揮，不然彈道會偏低。現在都不會打這類太悲催的桿頭，簡直自討苦吃！

操控上也沒有其他2隻桿子那樣容易和輕鬆，簡單說就是像打鍛造鐵桿那樣，不容許你的動作的失誤或不精準。我現在打球沒有太追求極致，動作可以輕鬆去發揮就好。打這套桿子真的有點累和不舒服。彈道和效能都不差，但都覺得沒有辦法快速去掌握好桿子和桿頭的移動，對我來說是非常沒有樂趣的打球。完全沒有互動。

CPX grip is most comfortable I have ever used for golf pride grips. It doesn't sacrifice the gripping ability and surprisingly it is so solid during the swing. I believe it's the multiple designs on the grip surface that helps golfers grip easily and solidly. After using one month, the durability is still good for this grip. I think it's good for golfers to consider with soft and comfortable golf pride on 2022.

Let's talk about the practical usage for this set, honestly speaking the feel of the impact is not good at all. it's so hard during the impact, even though the striking the swing spot of the face, it's not as soft as Titleist T200 and Taylormade M5 irons. It's kind of disappointing for the feel as the thin face with japanese forged face that should deliver soft feedback.

However, the shaft is working so precise and comfortable during the whole swing. The shaft is able to loading and unloading the power so smoothly and help you know the striking spot. However, the head feels harsh during the impact that makes the overall feel is not as good as I expect. The side spin reduces so good for golfers with the mistake of your swing. That's iron needs to provide and we are all average golfers.

In order to allow you get better control of Mizuno Pro 225 iron set, it's better to set up the swing weight at least D2 then you are able to manage the clubhead easier and manageable during the down swing. The difficulty of using this iron is the head feel is pretty much the same, no matter which spot you strike on the face. It's pretty the same feel!

I would say it's good for low handicapper who has very stable and reliable striking swing, if you swing is not mature, you will feel hard to handle it with frustration. Of course, it plays like blade for sure and the feel is not as good as traditional Japanese forged blade. It's what I have got and not very happy with the Mizuno iron feel.

必須要特別要求自己在下桿時，刻意去帶桿頭下去，不能順勢讓桿身帶下去。T200和M5可以，但Pro 225就完全不行，因為會吃球比較薄。以桿面重心來看，Pro 225會稍微高一些，但也都在半mm左右。可是就是很難吃到甜蜜點，這個狀況在下場會比較好，因為練習場的擊球時在墊子上，球場的草可以吃下去。所以這套桿子最好在真草上打會得到比較好的效果和手感，

它的特色在性能上，我覺得它的彈道會比較低平，倒旋也比較少。落地滾動上也比較多，我一些洞都會滾過頭，不像T200和M5那樣容易掌握。不過球速真的是快，這點在性能表現上是非常突出。對於秋冬這類季節，風或地形影響的球場，這套桿子會比較容易去克服距離短少，或被風吹的短距離問題。

我個人覺得，在鐵桿這塊上，美系大廠在對技術和科技的運用上，比日系品牌要更好和全面。Pro 225的桿頭技術說實在，不是什麼多新或屌的東西。對於現在球桿的易打和效能為王道時代，這樣的產品很容易被比下去。當然動作和技術好的球友對這類產品使用絕對不是問題。但對一般球友想有一套好看和好用的鐵桿，Mizuno就很容易被比下去。

至少我有另外2套的鐵桿做為對照比較組，是非常顯而易見的結果。就算Pro 225打到甜蜜點也沒有T200那種紮實度，擠壓球的彈性效果，也沒有M5那種易打和桿面特性。相較下，我不會很自虐的去打Pro 225，好看卻不好用的桿子我是不會去打。當然我會再去調整這套桿子的設定，但對於手感上的改變是非常有限。

以球具技術和發展來說，美系是完全力壓日系。不管在任何方面，美系產品都可以輕鬆輾壓。經過比較後，日系產品對於容錯、易打、和手感上，需要再提升。因為這不是Mizuno產品這樣，其他如Srixon，Bridgestone/Tourstage這類品牌，都有一樣的問題。當然它們在鍛造材質的優勢是不容置疑。可是要讓球友可以喜歡，可不是只有在手感這塊，必須在容錯、易打和操控上讓一般球友可以輕鬆感受。這才是問題核心！

When I play Pro 225 iron set, it needs to make your swing smooth and lead the iron head through the striking. It's not like T200 and M5 that can automatically help you hit the ball without problem. Pro 225 always hit on the top of the ball. I am using the same shaft for T200, M5 and Pro 225, therefore, it tells me Pro 225 is not as forgiving as others.

On the other hand, the ball speed is identically fast and low spin. The ball rolling can be over 15 yards, it's not good for iron when you the ball lands on the green but rolls over it. However, it's good weapon when you play during the fall and winter with windy weather. This iron would not let you down for the distance.

Nowadays the irons must be forgiving, easy to control/play and good performance. Since I have a number of irons to compare and set similar specification to show the differentiation, the result is obvious that Pro 225 is good on performance but the overall forgiving and control are far behind than other American peers.

Titleist T200 iron has great impact feel and performance, the average golf can easily pick up without difficulty. I was impressive on its striking feel with solid feedback. You can feel you eat the ball and ball bounce to the air. M5 is more forgiving that you just need to make you the iron face to contact the ball, then the iron will work out all the issues.

We are talking about the irons that can be operated simply and easily for average golfers instead of single handicappers. Japanese brands have the difficulty on making the products with easy to use and forgiving. I have no doubt on the design and appearance of Pro 225 but other brands can strike out Pro 225 through other features. That's why I am very disappointed with Pro 225!
