Ping 2021 Anser Sigma 2 adjustable putter!

最近在德州打球，面對球場的果嶺速度，一直都很悶，也很苦！因為我現在用的推桿是純碳鋼刀背answer/newport外型。很好掌握，但問題在力量的掌握很困擾我。在德州的球場果嶺速度都很快，速度都在9或以上。對於鋼材的推桿桿頭來說，很容易在距離和力量的掌握上產生問題。尤其在中、長的距離上真的都過頭很多。

所以痛定思痛，要再買一支適合快速果嶺的推桿來用，才能一勞永逸，對症下藥。而快果嶺要用的推桿桿頭是小烏龜的鋁合金材質，或是桿面有塑膠材質的坎入設計，才能把力量給吸收下來。反應到距離上才能不會太多。我台灣有幾隻這類推桿但都沒帶到美國來。所以找了市場上有什麼不錯，且適合滿足我的桿頭要求也不少，而我鎖定了新款Ping Anser Sigma 2推桿來用。

更重要它還有一個賣點，就是長度可以自行調整。其實推桿長度對多數球友來說都是不對，而你如果可以自己去調整到適合自己推法的長度，這樣真的可以提升推桿的信心和掌握度。桿頭太翹都是桿頭仰角台高不對。Ping的作法是從握把屁股的孔，用一般的把手，就如同木桿的可拆卸的桿身套管一樣。轉一轉就可以調整推桿的長度。

長度的範圍從32～36“。所以可以滿足多數球友對推桿長度的需求。我自己是設定32”。應該後面會把桿身給換掉用碳纖維的桿身來用，提升推擊的穩定性和滾動效果。當然這是後面再說，要先玩玩這桿子的特性和功能，才能知道要什麼問題、缺點，進而找相關的解決方法來配置改善。

Ping的推桿也是市場上的一大勢力，款式眾多，功能、材質的應用也很多元。價格也比較友善，所以這次才會補強推桿來購買。當然我一直認為Ping的做工比較粗，這也是一個問題。也是一分錢一分貨！而這款Sigma 2 platinum是銀色桿頭，桿面是黑色塑膠，有兩層的塑膠結構。第一層軟，第二層硬。

可以得到最好的手感和控球能力。有點像球的結構設計。每一層的硬度不同，去創造不同的效果和回饋。當然我對這塊地興趣不大。因為自己的推法也有一定程度的火候，推到甜蜜點的能力是有。對於回饋自然不會差。加上這類不同材質桿面設計，回饋上也會比較軟。不是我對推桿需要的重點。

Recently I have been struggling with my putting. Since north of Texas greens are fast, speed should be 9 or over. With such fast green feature, my current newport2 blade stainless putter head is hard to control the distance. I have suffered distance over the hole problem and need to work out this issue by selecting the new putter to fit the fast green speed.

To work out this problem, it needs to find the putter head with aluminum material or stainless head with face inserted ionomer (synthetic material) material to eat out some power then make the distance more control. I have some putters but it's not with me in Plano so I go for buying the new putter and select Ping Sigma 2 putter.

It has the features I need and moreover, there is adjustment length feature to change the length by myself. That is very practical and useful function for golfers to set the right length for your putting approach. Most of golfers' putter length is not correct and with this length adjustment, you can easy and simply to set your own length without asking for clubmaker.

You can use its own wrench or any driver's wrench to adjust the the length from the butt of the grip. The adjustment length range is from 32"~ 36". I believe it can fit 80% of golfers demand. Most of putter head's lie angle is not fit with golfer's putting style, thus the best way to make it fit your putting is change the length.

That's one of the reasons I bought this putter. The face is soft material and is able to deliver the good feedback with more control for striking the ball. The grip is Superstroke style's mid size grip style that is easily to grip and control. However, I may re-shaft later to use graphite putter shaft to see how the feedback, control and rolling performance go? Let me try the original setup for a while then decide what to do the advanced adjustment?

我喜歡的是它的價格和調整長度功能，$200的售價，加稅也差不多近220.在推桿來說算不貴。現在很多不錯的推桿都要$300以上，Scotty Cameron要超過400。所以如果你有明確需求和對球桿也有瞭解，真的只會選滿足需求的產品，品牌都是其次。價格自然選合理，因為後面還會做進行個人化調整和變化。選性價比高的產品來用是最好。

實際用這推桿，在調整它的長度，有發現一個問題，就是它的調整長度的螺絲材質強度不足，很容易會被扳手給吃掉。也就是說，它的+字紋會被磨掉，如果常轉的話，後面一定轉不了，因為螺絲槽已經磨掉/吃掉了。這也不是我這一支的問題和狀況，我也看其他Ping有adjustment功能的推桿都是這樣。因為我去朋友的店裡看，觀察其他adjustment的推桿都有螺絲槽被吃掉的狀況，只是嚴重程度。

這點Ping應該也瞭解，也認為如果你調整到適合的長度就不會動了，常改長度就讓你改不了。我也發email問他們如何解決？但是他們的回應速度很慢，大約要3～4天時間才會有回信。它們提供我自己寄回，或拿到購買的經銷商那邊，由經銷商進行處理。當然我選擇直接寄回，簡單且快速。

它們提供Fedex的寄回條碼，直接拿到Fedex的投遞店就可以。費用由Ping負責（寄回來的費用也是Ping負擔）。這就是我喜歡買正常渠道的原因，有問題這些費用都是廠商來負責。如果網路買，來路不明或網店退回要自己負責運費，都是很有可能。這樣費用又會增加幾十美元，等於多花的費用。

我週一寄出，下週一就收到修好的推桿。速度快到有點嚇到。回家看到桿子的盒子，一直想我最近沒有買桿子啊，桿身也不可能那麼短的箱子。如果拿去經銷商那邊去處理應該2～3週時間的處理吧，除非經銷商那邊有零件可以更換就更快好。收到桿子也沒有運費要付！在美國大品牌的服務都是這樣，Ping這樣做不是特好，只是剛好。

我收到推桿後有稍微觀察一下它是如何進行維修？我看來他們是直接把原本的桿身+握把換掉，也就是直接把桿身退下來，然後裝新的桿身+握把的現成零件。這樣做就很快。不需要把握把退下來，去換裡面的螺絲零件。所以我就覺得握把和桿身都新到不像話。因為我有下場推過一場球，不可能還這樣乾淨和沒有磨損。而且在桿身前端和桿頭桿頸部位有擦拭的痕跡，就是裝好，上好膠後，都會擦拭好。這痕跡我是看得出來。

I like Ping Sigma 2 putter price $200 with adjustment length feature, plus tax is about $220. Although the quality and detail of head is not as good as Scotty Cameron, but Scotty is asking over $400 for similar design putter and Sigma 2 is just half of the price, I can't ask more for this putter. Since I may reshaft, and regrip later so I need to control my cost for this putter with reasonable price then put the new carbon putter shaft and grip on it for upgrading the putter performance, feedback and control.

There is one issue for this putter that the length adjustment's screw is so weak easily eaten out with the wrench. I check with other Ping adjustment putter for such situation, it's similar! I email Ping customer service for such issue to work out? They offer me two solutions, one is to ship it back directly, they provide the return shipping label and I need to find the box to load it.

The second one is to bring to the store that I purchases and they will take care for ship back or repairing work. Of course, I prefer ship back directly and get my putter back ASAP. However, their customer service replies the email taking 3 to 4 days. But surprisingly it's repairing and receiving the package with only one week. I ship the box on Monday and get it on following Monday.

I was thinking I did not purchase golf clubs recently and why there is a golf club box in my front door? It's hard to believe they can work it out so efficient. I check the putter, it's shaft and grip are completely new condition and I assume they just reshaft to make the work done quick instead of replacing the adjustment's screw by pulling out the grip.

I can see the shaft tip and putter's neck are cleaned with the work. That's the best way to replace the problem. If you purchase from online or auction seller, you may not get the repairing for free. That's why I like to purchase from big brand site or chain store as they have complete services for return, refund and repairing. If you don't have the warranty, it will cost over $100 for such work without question.

我實際在球場推和在練習場的果嶺推都覺得不錯。在WestRidge球場18洞推下來都可以把距離掌握好，過洞後，也都可以在一步的範圍內。全場都是2推結束，和我預期的距離效果差不多。至少我的力量大，距離不會跑太多。掌握力量和距離的能力變好了。這種桿頭就是適合美國這種快速果嶺。台灣的果嶺速度都很慢，我用傳統鋼材的桿頭就很好推。

所以如果你要推好，就必須“工欲善其事必先利其器”。對的桿子對上對的球場狀況。這樣就方便許多。不需要去調整改變自己在推擊的方法和力道。不然我應該要推給幾場才能慢慢瞭解快速果嶺和鋼材推桿的力量/距離的掌握。花點錢來省掉時間的投資是我目前的狀況。

推感上有點鈍。應該是材質把推擊回饋吸收掉，傳到握把就會覺得沒有很立即。很難感受到是否推在桿面甜蜜點位置。因為sweet spot和off sweet spot的回饋都一樣。和我其他推桿來比，就覺得很鈍。另外有一個因素也是可能導致這個原因，就是它的可調整長度功能，這是做在握把內部。所以回饋很容易會被這些內部功能給抵銷或吃掉。

所以我不喜歡這類功能或塑膠桿面材質，很容易把手感給吃掉。對掌握球桿的能力就打折不少。後面我會把桿身和握把換掉，再看看效果有沒有提升。桿頭重量在350g，很適合配短，如果設定34“或以上，推起來的重量感很大，會很吃手的力量和握力。這個狀況是你用肩膀擺動來推，不是用手臂推。推到後面9洞手臂和手掌的穩定度就不行。

這也是我不習慣推這類市售產品，我的推法不適合用。重量太高和不平衡。不過把長度設在32“就好多了。肩膀的擺動就比較容易和順暢。手臂的負擔也就小很多，桿頭的仰角就比較容易去設定。所以推桿的關鍵點在重量和長度，這樣才能讓你的推法和桿頭仰角得到一個最好的關係和配合。

整體來說，這隻推桿的賣點在它的長度可調整功能。桿頭設計一般，桿面材質坎入塑膠，讓手感不會太硬，但無法感受到甜蜜點的位置，對於推法穩定的人，反而不容易掌握推桿的精準度。當然它適合果嶺速度慢，距離和力量的掌握會比較容易。當然可以去提升這推桿的效能和細節，但需要更換桿身、握把和長度設定。也是一支不錯可以拿來玩的推桿。

而它的售價在$200，已經很佛心了，我就不去苛求它要有太好的細節和做工了。所以適合拿來玩推桿，進行個人化的推桿改裝。相對Scotty Cameron一支就要$400以上的價格，把桿身換掉，握把換掉，重新設定重量和規格，這桿子也會煥然一新。簡單說，這隻桿子就是給一般球友來用，桿頭也夠重，桿面坎入塑膠材質，都是給用手推的人可以有不錯手感，和容易控制的要求。不想花大錢，這隻是不錯的考慮！

I have played one round for this putter in Westiridge golf course, it's right on my expectation that controls better on the distance. Since the face is able to digest the extra power to the distance particularly the fast green speed. All the holes I make it within 2 putts. I feel this one is going to be my line up in this summer.

I will build the new putter with the new LA Golf shaft TPZ putter shaft later and this putter will be my current putter to deal with the greens in north of Texas. The feedback of striking, it's not clear as the face material sucks the impact vibrations. It's hard to identify the putting on sweet spot and off sweet spot. It's slightly different on bouncing feedback to sweet spot.

That's why I do not like to play the face inserting putter since the different materials will make the feedback hard to identify. If you are the shoulder rotating putting style, it would not be a good putter for you to control the striking accuracy. However, the good thing is you can adjust the length to make the putter more comfortable to control. For the feedback, you can only sacrifice.

Overall I like the putter's length adjustment feature, it's good for average golfers to fit your putter method instead of changing your putter style. The other advantage is the price, the $200 is very reasonable. If you get similar design and shape from Scotty Cameron or Odyssey, that costs you more than this amount. It's good to have the putter like this as the back up one.

It won't cost you too much but you can use this head to fit other putter shaft to see how this putter will be performing? If you like to have better product quality and details, I think this one is not going to satisfy you. It's good for new golfers or trying to build your own putting style. You can find the solution from this putter with its unique features.
