在Memorial day的連假裡也安排一場球。選在長島的球場，Stonebridge Golf Links。這是半私人球場，但也開放給外面非會員來打球。開車約55分鐘，因為這裡附近有一個常來的outlet。就決定打這個球場。這是一個links風格球場，全長6200碼/黑tee。比較友善的距離，對於推車的我來說，要讓身體逐步的習慣走路打球，是選它的原因。

美國多數的球場，第一洞開始都是讓球友建立信心的開始。不會給你一個震撼教育。這是高爾夫的標準邏輯，不是以要考倒你，而是讓你逐步去享受高爾夫的挑戰和樂趣。這是在亞洲和美國打球很大不同。美國大多的球場都是比較for fun，但在亞洲的球場，如果沒有讓你打到髒話連篇，就很難讓球友印象深刻。

今天的天氣超熱，要90度高溫，德州的經驗讓我對這樣的天氣還是游刃有餘。但水和點心也是不時要不斷補充，才不會體力消耗太快。濕毛巾和防曬是標配！夏天打球我都帶茶，比較解渴。這個球場不長但挑戰在球道窄，水池多，果嶺非常難，果嶺的難在於不規則形狀，而且果嶺設計很多都是2層結構。

也就是高低落差很大，如果球落在不對的位置，3推很正常。很像打比賽的果嶺設計。我今天開球都是Callaway Rogue ST 前9， Stealth 後9. 開球一樣是拿手，平均距離都在260碼。天氣其實很濕，濕度高，打起來很累。好的地方是有風，風是涼的。今年紐約夏天是比其他地方要舒服多，其他地方都爆熱，打球還是相對涼爽。

我一條濕毛巾套在脖子，解暑很有效。我今天抓3鳥，8個par，3個+1， 剩下+2。因為幾個par 4都不長，一個278碼，我Rogue ST直攻就到果嶺edge，嚇到，因為tee台比較高，所以多飛一點距離。還有400碼出頭的也是剩下60碼左右。都是很好抓鳥。我今天的中鐵基本很少露面。只有在par 3，和2次第二桿進攻。基本都是wedge和P桿打第二桿。感覺很像今年的US Open球場。

During the memorial long holidays, I pick up Stonebridge golf links in long island to play. It's semi-private golf course and opens for none member golfers to play. During it's about 45 minutes from my place, the style is links with 6200 yards for 18 holes. I like this course since I need to consider my body condition with walking 18 holes during the summer.

Summer is tough season to walk over 18 holes as the temperature is high, if your body is not good, don't try to walk, it's suicide! The first hole is always the place to build your confidence and get your condition to the play mode. Comparing the golf course in Asia, it's sometime tough for average golfers on first hole. That's why I like to play in the state, it's much friendly!

The temperature is over 90 degree, I am kind of OK for such weather since I was in Plano, TX for last summer. It's really better place than south since the winds are good to cool down your skin. Considering my body condition, I decide to play alone and reject grouping with other golfers. I know I need to walk slow in such weather, otherwise, I will not feel good in last 9 holes.

I also bring my green tea for summer, it's better to drink during the hot temperature. The first 9 I play Callaway Rogue ST driver and the back 9 was Taylormade Stealth. I am getting better for using these two drivers and easier to drive the maximum distance. The average tee shot distance can reach 260 yards, it's my expectation.

I have got 3 birdies, 8 pars, 3 bogey, the rests are double bogey. Since par 4 is not really long distance, I can make it within 120 yards after my tee shot. There is one par 4 with 278 yards, I make it to the edge. But it's not that easy since the challenges are on the greens with 2 layers design and if you make the wrong spot on the green, it's easy to have 3 putts.

中集開始。

只要開球沒問題，打這個球場就很容易。我打黑tee，一點都不會覺得困難，Par 5 都是500碼以上。三木都是如魚得水，都再一切就上果嶺。我沒有下水，只有下沙一次。沙子是中顆粒，也是有灑水，要用力吃下沙才能脫困。沙坑都放在果嶺前面和周圍，非常有挑戰，很容易就下去。還好我都把球放在沙坑前，在切上去。

它球場的挑戰很要求擊球精準度，開球也好，進攻果嶺也一樣，稍微失誤就會得到傷害。會需要比較進階球友才能應付自如。簡單說，除了開球要準，短桿要穩。不然一定會搞死你。我今天有一個好球就是一個長推進洞，守par。讓我非常爽，好久沒有長推進洞了！今天的推桿真的很穩。多半2推，幾個一推抓鳥、守par。

果嶺的狀況不錯但速度有點慢，大概在8左右。因為紐約這裡的果嶺普遍慢，所以比較抓得到速度。長推就算沒有近，也都可以剩下一步或一步半距離，就2推打包。而我的長推還是一個緩下坡，所以不是很好推。這也是我認為它的難度都在一些細節上。還有要看旗桿的顏色來瞭解洞的位置。

藍白旗是洞口在果嶺前面，紅白旗是在果嶺後面，白色是在中間。懂得判斷就知道要加減多數距離來進攻和選擇球桿。這也是打久可以判斷的能力。不然出發台的人員是不會告訴你。這是我第二次自己推車打球，我今天可以打得比·往常好，就是我自己一個打Solo。因為我知道如果和別人併組，別人開球車，我走路，我還要追別人，這樣很累，自己節奏也容易被打亂。

所以我今天就謝絕2位Senior的邀約。讓別人先走。這樣打下來，我從10:40AM到完是14:35。4個小時收工回家。但腳很酸，身體很累，因為太熱了，身體消耗太大，可以打這樣，我自己都給自己讚了。當你是2輪的行動力，是無法和4輪的速度比。反而自己的體力和節奏都是被帶著走，這樣打到後面就一定無法維持表現。

The key to play this golf course is the accuracy. Your tee shot and second shot are important for the accuracy. If you make the mistake, you get hurt. The distance is not the problem for average golfer, but if you do not manage your shot accuracy, you can't get the good score in the end. The greens are surrounded by the bunkers.

That's why you get problem if you did not perform correctly with your swing. The par 5 is over 500 yards that I need to make it to the green for 3 shots. Sometimes I can land the ball on the right spot of the green to get a birdie or 2 putts to end the hole. You have to play strategy and put your ball on the right position for the next shot.

It sounds easy but it's hard to execute and perform consistently. The green is good but the speed is kind of slow, I think it should be around 8. In NYC and long island golf courses, the green speed is below 9 since it's hard to maintain the green as too many golfers to play. I am kind of similar with the speed and condition to make good putting.

There are three kinds of flags that demonstrate the right spot of the pin. The blue/white flag is the pin located on the front of the green area, red/white is the back of the green, and the white flag is on the middle of the green. The difference of the flag will be 10~30 yards on the distance. That's the thing you need to catch up by yourself.

This time I don't group with other senior golfers who drive the cart. I know my tempo and walking speed is unable to catch their speed, if I pair with them, it will drive my energy down to the end on last 3 holes. Particularly the hot temperature, my energy is losing quick. I play alone but I make the best score in recent 2 years.

下集開始。

這些歐吉尚都知道，天熱，他們都不走路，改坐車打球。所以我也不會和他們一起打，他們4輪，我2輪肯定追的我喘呼呼。雖然我準度和距離都比較好，但還是自己打自己比較可以掌握走路節奏。今天球都在場內但2個球找不到，不過我卻在球場撿到5個球。在美國打球實力在10以內，根本不需要買球，因為球場打也會撿到。所以我的球是越來越多。一個Pro V1打12個洞，才放生。

另外，今天用新的Taylormade M5 鐵桿，桿面實在太鳥了。開球或球道上打，桿面跟狗啃，一堆刮痕。我同時用T200比較，桿面都是頭好壯壯。M5的桿面處理太軟，雖然手感不錯，但根本不耐磨和撞擊。這樣打不到一年，就要退役了。這點對於鐵桿有需求的人最好要去實際打比較一下。看外觀是看不出來！

Taylormade的技術都差不多，鐵桿就是一定會吃土，鐵桿桿面磨損是家常便飯，但第一次下場，桿面就和畫圖一樣精彩。比日本鍛造wedge還不耐。因為我同時也帶Titleist T200來比較，好壞差異，一目了然。

夏天打球要準備更多，而且打球的節奏要更穩定。我自己推車，有不斷去嘗試一些東西和改變。也逐步找到適合自己打球模式。現在打球都可以發揮正常，不管什麼球場，都見過市面，不會被嚇倒。北邊球場的距離多半在6000～6500碼，各自有風格特色。有些要打準，有些要有距離，有些要有體力。南邊的距離長，也比較寬，但我比較喜歡北方球場，因為需要思考和專注去打好球。

絕對不能大腦發熱，不然會很慘，而且樹林也很有挑戰，基本進去就再打回球道，不要直攻，因為一定會被擋下來。這個球場不錯，值得再來打，非常有特色和挑戰，可以看出自己的問題和短板。如果穩定性不好，肯定東奔西跑，到處救球和找球。這是比較進階的球場，考驗你對長桿的準度和穩定度。不能有太大犯錯空間，不然就下水，出界。

Temperature is hot so these senior golfers know to drive cart instead of walking. I can't group with them since I can't catch up their speed by walking. I am able to control my walking tempo then performing the best result. The good thing is I pick about 5 golf balls today but could not find my 2 golf balls.

I would say if your handicap is within 10, You actually do not need to buy the golf balls, you can find the golf balls on the course without difficulty. I play 12 holes for one titleist pro v1 then change other golf ball. There is one thing I would like to mention that I play both new M5 iron and new Titleist T200 iron in this round, but The M5 iron face is not strong with some scratches and dots.

Comparing to T200 irons, T200 irons are no damage or scratch at all. It's the face material and coating issues, Taylormade needs to do something better on that. Otherwise, you will need replace the new iron after playing one year. It's unable to check when you checking on the store, you will have to play on the ground in order to see the difference.

With my experience, I prefer to play the golf course in North east. There are big trees, challenging fairway and greens. Although the distance is about 6000~6500 yards, it will give you lots of fun and allow you to find out your shortage and problem. Comparing to south, Florida and Texas, the distance is over 7000 yards, the fairway and green is pretty flat, trees are much smaller that is easier to get out.

Of course, it's hot in south to play golf, that is the biggest challenge for golfers. I like this golf coure, there are lots of details to find out and overcome. I would definitely come again. It gives you fun and asks for your consistency and accuracy. Even it's summer, you won't be beaten by heat!
