Taylormade SIM Titanium 鈦合金 5W review測試！

最近測試不同球款時，也同時測試不同的球桿。尤其是球道木。球道木對我來說最重要，因為我的木桿基本沒有什麼大問題，有很多的桿子可以去調整、依據球場的特性和狀況去使用不同木桿。但球道木下場還是有點一擺一擺。而最近2年都沒有測試新的球道木，這次都是以Taylormade今年和去年款的鈦合金球道木來進行測試分享。

這款SIM是2020年款的鈦合金球道木，因為過季產品所以價格比較便宜。5木對我來說，打起來和三木差在10～15碼距離。打到甜蜜點在210～215碼/三木是220～240碼，沒打到點在190～200碼。三木是200～210碼。對我來說，用5木會相對容易和好發揮，畢竟角度大和長度也比較短。而為什麼要鈦合金呢？因為可以增加距離10碼，手感也比較脆的優勢！所以我一直都用鈦合金球道木。

SIM鈦合金球道木都是延續之前M5鈦合金球道木的設計結構與技術。也就是把桿頭的重量塊放在桿頭的底部，讓桿頭重心可以壓低，以提升擊球的起發角/反彈角。而這對於一般球友來說是比較務實的設定。因為在球道上使用球道木，難度高，同時也不容易把球推上空中，而如果讓球可以更容易彈上空中就可以得到更好的飛行距離。

很多時候，必須要飛一段不小的距離，要越過水池或山溝。加上5木要打上果嶺比較多，而彈道高度是非常重要，才能落到果嶺不要滾出果嶺。這也是我在測試很重要的觀察重點。SIM 鈦合金5木是19度，也是配置可調整角度的套管。所以如果你要調整桿面角度和球桿仰角都可以藉由這功能去進行調整。

這桿子是配置原廠三菱Diamana黑管FW 75 S硬度。對我使用是OK。長度在42.25“。算是OK的長度。如果我自己的5木會控制在42”或以內，以提升擊球精準度和操控位訴求。以球道木來說，裁短0.5“～1”的空間是有的。因為原廠的長度設定都比較長，對於動作不穩定的一般球友來說，使用上是相對困難，而調整長度往往是重要的第一步。

規格這部分我就不去說明，因為是原廠的桿子。而我實際在室內的打擊模擬器上測試的結果如下。模擬器是Foresign GC2.使用的球款有Callaway ERC soft， Titleist Tour speed， Taylormade Distance+，TopFlite 。主要去觀察同一支桿子用不同球款會得到說明結果？這會在其他文章裡去討論說明。

Recently I have been testing and trying various golf balls, at the same time, I also try various golf clubs. Fairway wood is the most important golf club on my bag. Why? Since my driver distance is around 250~260 range and off sweet spot is 230~240 yards. Therefore, the second long distance golf club plays critical rule for me to make the par.

That's why I like fairway wood and if you can play well on 3w and 5w, you can easily get a good score for the total distance over 6500 yards course. The distance below 6500 yards, you don't really need fairway wood as you can play your hybrid or long iron to make the second shot to the green without problem. Why do I pick titanium fairway wood? Since it's better feel and longer distance (10 yards longer than steel) for me. Without the distance, you barely can compete with other good players.

This time I would like to review the 2020 Taylormade SIM titanium 5 wood and it's technology and design are based on previous M5 titanium fairway wood. There is one 60g weight located in the club sole to make the center of gravity low and back. It will help golfers get the ball high for maximum distance. Since it's extremely important for fairway wood to get the distance on second shot particularly sometimes you need to fly over the water.

I wold rather carry 5W instead of hybrid since hybrid is not stable on distance and the trajectory is too high to lose the distance. That's why I carry 3W, 5W and 3i or 4i for the shot over 180 yards. Sim titanium 5W is featured with interchangeable sleeve for adjusting the loft and lie angles. It's good for golfers to change by your own based on your swing setup and usage.

The 5W comes with Mitsubishi Rayon Diamana black 75 Stiff flex shaft. The length is 42.25", but for my personal 5W I would set 42"~41.5". The shorter length is better for control and striking accuracy. I will try this setup first then reshaft with my specification to see the difference. Most of original golf club setup is long length but it's not good for average golfers to play and handle. That's why you need to do the adjustment for your use.

I am using Foresign GC2 launch monitor to see the performance data and also try various golf balls such as Callaway ERC soft, Titleist tour speed, Taylormade distance + to see how it performs. There is another article to discuss the golf balls reviews. Below is the review details.

中集開始。

首先，這5木相對好打，桿子長度是42.25，長度相對好控。和我自己的三木長度差0.25“，所以操控上會比較容易和習慣。而打起來，一樣是很彈的桿面回饋。都是用同樣桿面技術twist face，打到甜蜜點會感覺到桿面把球給彈出去。手感回饋非常棒。和2021年款的SIM2 Titanium三木是一樣的感覺。對感覺派的人絕對是加分！

桿頭底部設計是和以前的V Steel一樣。我以前也有V steel，打起來也是很猛，手感超優，在當時也是極品的球道木之一。TM在木桿類的好桿是真的多，底部有凹槽設計，但把凹槽封起來，是看不出來。這些技術都是利用過去和收購Adams Golf來，再加上近幾年來它們自己的技術。所以這個桿頭打起來非常舒服和好打。應該說這款5木的桿頭設計成熟度真的破表！挑不出毛病。

打在非甜蜜點的位置效果也不錯，手感上會稍微硬一點，但也不會不舒服。比起其他品牌的球道木回饋要好多了。所以這款球道木對於喜歡手感佳的人會是一個好的選擇。如果和日系鍛造球道木來比較，我覺得各有千秋。因為日系的球道木如果鍛造桿面來說，手感比較軟綿。而SIM2 /SIM鈦合金就比較彈。

2種的感覺是不同，但感覺都是舒服。而且我打起來，球就算打在非甜蜜點位置的方向偏差率都沒有太大。應該我自己的動作也穩定，同時桿面的技術把擊球在桿根或桿趾區塊的側旋有效控制和壓低，導致我一些動作細節沒有到位，多半是小左曲或小右曲。

這是很重要，因為如果偏差率太高，球基本就出界或救不回來。尤其是打果嶺的一桿，有些果嶺設計比較刁鑽，所謂偏一點就bye了。但這桿還是可以把球留在球場裡。這是要給它肯定。另外在距離表現上，19度的桿面角度，對於起球是相對容易，我的起發角度在16左右，飛行距離在185～200碼，滾動在15碼左右。這是包含如果沒有打在甜蜜點上的距離。

First of all, this 5w is good to play and control. Since the length is 42.25", it's similar with my 3W 42.50". I prefer to play shorter length on my 3W and 5W. Therefore, with such length it's good for me to handle and swing without difficulty. The feedback of the impact is so good, you are able to feel the face impacting the ball with bouncing.

It's so comfortable on impact. I personal like it! The head's sole design is used previous V Steel fairway technology that makes the weight concentrates on the sole. Of course the V steel face feedback was so good. I would say SIM/SIM2 titanium fairway woods are the most mature design from Taylormade woods.

Taylormade bought Adams Golf to enhance its wood head technology such as the pocket technology behind the face. It is able to make the ball speed faster and low spin advantages. Now it's implemented to all TM fairway woods including SIM titanium. Plus the twin face technology helps the off sweet spot reduce the side spin. For average golfers, mis shot is normal and this 5W is able to make the damage as low as possible.

Even though you hit on the toe or heel, the feedback is still acceptable without hard feeling. Moreover, the side spin is lower than other fairway woods. That's why it's good for average golfer to play on the second shot or par 3 for nasty green design. Sometimes, when you miss or swing mistake, the ball goes out of bound. This 5W can make the side spin lower and keep the ball alive.

That's why I like this 5W since it's good feel and misshot damage that are really good for average golfers. The distance is also impressive! The launch angle for this 5w is 16 to 19 degrees, the carry distance is 185~200 yards and rolling is about 15 yards. It's very consistent including my off sweet spot.

所以結果來說是相當到位。以我現在打的五木來說，距離會比較短。最遠距離應該也就在200碼出頭，飛行在180碼左右，所以整體距離會差10～15碼。而且這隻鈦合金五木的彈道會比我自己的5木要高多，所以距離真的讓我心動。當然我現在用的callaway great big Bertha是不鏽鋼材質，就會低一階了。

當然這款SIM鈦合金的球道木最讓我按讚是它的桿頭容錯很高，我上面說到非甜蜜點的擊球結果真的不會太差，左右方向的抗側旋能力很優。另外在距離的損失也不大。都有185碼的實力。倒旋也在3300rpm上下。對距離和失擊都是在可控的範圍內。滾動距離不會太多，在10～15碼內，可以停在果嶺上。這是關鍵！

一般來說，現在球友在球道木上的使用比較少。用三木機會比較大，現在用5木的人真的不多。所以球具店裡賣5木的機會真的很少見。而這隻是店裡的試打桿，使用的狀況和機會看起來不多。因為會考慮買5木的人實在太少了。所以如果店有折扣再來買下來。

整體來說，這個5木是相當優秀。我和最新2021的SIM2 鈦合金三木比較，它也不會輸。飛行距離差個10碼左右，滾動也是不相上下。如果要我來說，我就會買下來，裝可以飛中高彈道的桿身，來針對打果嶺的距離。同時把長度控制在42”或41.75“，提升擊球精準度和操控能力。讓飛行距離在190碼，總距離在210碼。

這就和我的三木差不多了。而5木我覺得打起來真的比小雞腿要穩定多了。在距離這塊就是完勝雞腿。雞腿的距離不穩定性太高。就算打紮實距離一樣見風就短。更不用說非甜蜜點的距離短少了。所以如果你需要長距離的第二桿進攻果嶺的桿子，好好考慮和利用5木，你會覺得打好它，可以不需要用三木和雞腿了。這是我個人心得，給大家參考！

I am very happy with the distance for this 5W since my current 5W distance is shorter. The carry distance is around 180 yard, the total distance with rolling should be 190~200 yards. Comparing with titanium 5W, it's about 10 to 15 yards short, that's why I am considering to get this 5W. However the steel head is always shorter than titanium head about 10 yards.

There is another advantage of the titanium 5W, forgiving. That's really impressive me since off sweet spot can't damage you too much but for other fairway woods, your ball may be out of bound. At the same time, the distance for off sweet spot is still good compared with other fairway woods. It's critical for average golfers since we make the bad shots all the time and the club needs to help you make the ball alive.

Nowadays golfers are barely using 5W to play, since there are hybrids to replace with easier to play and forgiving features. I was the hybrid advocate but when you need the accuracy and distance, it's not as good as long iron and fairway woods. That's why I gave up hybrid and to use the 5W or 3i. Of course, it's better results and distance.

Overall, this 5W performs very impressive and I am really considering to get one. Since I need the distance and this 5W can meet my requirement and also forgiving. I would consider to upgrade the shaft and set the right specification to make the performance even better. With the changes, I can make the striking accuracy and control ability to the maximum.

Again, the golf club is very personal. if you prefer to play hybrid, make the best result for that. For me I have been trying various golf clubs, fairway woods are my preference and long iron is better to use and deliver the accuracy on par 3. You do not need to be like others but try to make your club with better fit on your swing and requirements.
