Taylormade SIM2 Titanium三木測試！

今天在室內測試一下2支今年的三木，一支是Sim2 Titanium，而另一隻是Epic Max 三木。都是原廠的桿子，沒有做調整和更換桿身的設定。我已經買了一支Epic Max三木要進行桿身和規格重新調整，所以這次的測試是有一個底，看要如何進行桿身選擇和規格設定？這次用的是Foresight GC 2擊球模擬器。在美國它是最大也是最多工坊用。精準度不會輸Trackman。

室內測試基本就瞭解桿子的特性，對於擊球的一些內容數據就挑一些做參考。尤其距離就真的參考。因為我的經驗是實際下場的距離和在室內的距離就會減個10碼左右。這是木桿部分。鐵桿就在5碼左右差異。因為室內是一個無風、且沒有把一些濕度等因素計算進去。所以結果會是一個比較完美的狀態。而一旦經驗多了就知道要減去多少，才是可能會得到的結果。

因為我的三木距離在200～220碼。但如果用鈦合金的桿頭就會比較遠，一般不鏽鋼的桿頭就在195～210碼範圍。所以我喜歡用鈦合金。一旦知道自己的弱點，就要想辦法解決和改善。所以我才會考慮買一支SIM2 Titanium來用。市售有鈦合金球道木桿頭的很少，以前還會有Adams會出，後來被Taylormade給買掉了，就剩TM會出。其他品牌基本沒有。或只能找日系的小品牌來用。

但成本上會稍微高一點。但易打和操控來說，我喜歡美系。美系在桿頭的設計、容錯和易打上要比日系好太多。日系優在手感和可以單買桿頭好處。至少我打日系超過15年的歷史和經驗是可以這樣下個結論。我現在也是持續用日系，如果我覺得不錯的產品就會買來用。我只能說，對於缺距離的人來說，鈦合金是一個方法可以提升。但成本會比較貴。至少貴不鏽鋼的球道木在3000～6000左右。

至於其他好處，我個人喜歡鈦合金的擊球手感。它的手感比較脆，感覺擊球有更多的紮實感。相較於不鏽鋼的桿面，爽度上可以說完勝。但如果一些設計不錯的不鏽鋼桿頭，打起來的手感也是很紮實，而且會有更多擠壓感。尤其是一些鍛造的不鏽鋼桿面。但不鏽鋼還有一個問題就是容易打破和打軟。尤其對一些有速度和力量的球友，這個狀況比較常見。鈦合金相對比較耐用和強度高的優勢。

我先試Epic Max三木，打起來很紮實的手感。桿子長度是43“，配置60g等級的桿身，選S硬度。SIM2 Titanium也是一樣的桿身規格。這樣試才能知道產品差異和桿頭的回饋表現。我是一支桿子打5～6球，然後更換另一隻，再打5～6球。休息一下，觀察打的數據結果。然後在進行另一回合的測試。一樣是內容和流程，只會測兩個回合。不需要多，因為這樣才是最真實的結果和你的身體對球桿的自然反應。避免身體去適應桿子。

Now it's been the middle of the year, today I am going to share the reviews of 2 fairway woods, one is Callaway Epic Max 3W and the other is Taylormade SIM2 Titanium 3W. It's the hottest fairway woods in the market and Epic is stailness material, SIM2 titanium is titanium face. Technically and practically speaking, Titanium one is able to drive 10 yards longer than stainless head. That's why I always stick on the Titanium fairways.

I already bought one Callaway Epic Max 3W but need to know how I should upgrade the shaft and specification? This time I am able to compare the two fairway woods then find out the best way to reset my Epic Max 3W. This time I am testing in the indoor with Foresight GC 2 launch monitor. Of course, the indoor is not like outdoor to get the accurate data but it's basic information to see how the woods can perform?

With my experience, indoor distance needs to be reduced about 10 yards for woods and 5 yards for irons. Since indoor has no winds without humidity to consider, the data is the perfect condition. Of course, I will use the right golf balls to see how it goest with the best results during the testing.

With the testing, I will testing each 3w for 5~6 balls and check the launch monitor's data then switch to the other 3W to hit 5~6 balls and review the data then stop the testing. Couple days later, I will do the same test again. Testing about 3 rounds within a week to see the overall data results. It should be the usual data to share to everyone.

I will not play too many balls per round since our body is smart to fit the golf club we are playing. That's why it's important to catch the true result and data without hitting too many times per club. In terms of 3W pricing, titanium fairway is about 30~40% higher than stainless head, of course titanium is better on the hitting feel and longer distance. That's why the price is different!

Epic Max 3W is 43" 15 loft with 60 gram shaft weight and stiff flex, the Sim2 titanium is the similar specification to compare. If the club specification is different on the weight, length and flex, you will get different result that is hard to make the right judgements. Epic Max head is little bigger than SIM2 titanium with vision. I have no problem on the size.

下集開始。

通常第一回數據會稍微弱一點，因為身體還沒有熱開，動作和速度力量還沒有燃燒起來。第二回合就是比較好找正常的結果。距離和穩定性就比較好。第一回合的資料比較是可能下場前9洞的表現，我的左右偏差率都在可以接受的範圍。不會太大，但我的球道木都在第二個或球道上使用，所以方向偏一點或打fade就會在果嶺兩邊。

打SIM2 Titanium都是打小fade，應該是桿身的問題。三菱的Tensei 65 S，桿身前/中端比較軟，感覺頭會甩一下。所以側旋會比Epic Max多。因為是全新的桿子，桿身還撐的住，所以小fade是不錯的球路。但可以換桿身來解決這個問題。打SIM2 鈦合金的擊球角度在13～17度，這是合理的範圍，所以得到的飛行距離在200碼和滾動20碼的結果。這是我用鈦合金桿頭的射程範圍，也就符合我的預期。

出球速度在120～130mph。smash factor這是Trackman的擊球效能，在foresign裡是efficiency，我是1.46，1.5是完美，所以越接近這個數據就是你擊球撞擊效果是越好。如果在1.5-1個範圍都是很棒的動作結果。動作穩定和擊球紮實度與否也和這個數據有關。倒旋在3000+-200轉，我個人覺得有點高。有調整空間，當然不要滾太多的話就這個數據也是可以。要用這桿子是要衝距離還是落果嶺？

彈道算中間，因為我打Epic Max是比這隻要高。算比較進階型的桿頭設定，因為桿頭的起發角不高，用的人要有速度和穩定的擊球動作，這樣效果才能出來。所以測試球桿最好要2支桿子去比較，才能有一個完整的圖形。Sim2 鈦合金算中彈道。如果是中彈道我會設定衝距離，尤其第一桿打壞，或5桿洞第二桿需要距離，這樣的桿子可以連滾帶爬有個230～240碼。就可以有機會拼2桿上。

Epic Max是攻果嶺的設定，擊球起發角度比較高，彈道也高，所以落點可以滾少一點。這就是依據桿頭和桿身的特性，去設定桿子的風格和擊球策略。所以訂製球桿是很複雜，也需要考慮不少東西，不是你打哪一支順手就是最好。需要看你的需求、問題、和擊球策略去思考全面性的東西，才能有一個好的結果和球桿設定。而且也要根據球友本身的能力和技術去思考，這也是我和一般訂製師不同，很多美國人喜歡我的全面性思考和球桿設定。會指名要找我。

落地角度在40度+- 5度範圍，是一個不錯的角度，可以得到不錯的滾動效果。打到甜蜜點距離會超過220碼，沒打到甜蜜點在200～210碼，算不錯的結果。但這是理想狀態，下場可能就要減個10碼才是可能的結果。所以這樣來看，SIM2 鈦合金是真的不錯。也是我下一個要入手的桿子了。

Generally the first round of the data is not as good as I used to since your body is not in playing condition and the swing speed and power haven't driven up. The second round becomes normal and better. The distance and consistency are back to my normal performances. The direction accuracy is about 5 degree to -5 degree range, the ball is landed on the small circle.

Since my 3W is always played on the second shot after the tee shot and the misshot is on the green's edge or the bunker that is acceptable. Sim2 Titanium is always fade that should be the shaft profile. I feel the shaft is tip and mid section soft design and when I release the 3W, the head is acting more bouncing which is the reason why it creates more side spin.

If I would like to make it to flight straight, there are many ways to work it out such as replace the new shaft to make the tip firm or stands open to make my striking to draw. The launch angle is 13~17 degree that is good for me to get the right trajectory and 40+- 5 degree landing angle. The trajectory is mid height with penetrating ball flighting.

I can get about 200 yards carry distance and 20 yards rolling result. Comparing the Epic Max 3W, the trajectory of Epic Max is higher than SIM2 titanium and carrying distance is about 10 yards shorter. I would say Epic Max is the golf club to target the green with high trajectory and less rolling ability. The SIM 2 titanium is able to get more distance in both carry and rolling distances.

It's good to play SIM2 Titanium on the par 5 second shot or long par 4 second shot that needs to drive the distance over 240 yards for 2nd shot on the green mission. Epic Max 3W launch angle is higher than SIM2 titanium, that's the head's center of gravity differentiation for two 3W. I have bought one Callaway Epic Max 3W and now I have better idea to setup this 3W for my play.

Through the testing, I am able to know the profiles of two 3W that are very important for me to build the knowledge base on the product then further to build the right specification and setup for my Epic Max 3W. Epic Max is low CG and high launch profile that is easier for golfers to lift the ball on the air, on the other hand, SIM2 titanium is low launch with mid/low spin rate for penetrating ball flighting.
