推桿其實和wedge有高度的類似感。wedge有很多角度，而不同角度的使用和距離效果都會不同。但如果真要打準就不是全揮桿。這才是考驗和講究技術的地方。控制距離和方向才是最難。也是高爾夫裡最考驗大家的地方。

這就是推桿的精髓！控制力量和方向。現在很多的球場果嶺設計都是大果嶺。所以如果你球落點不好，要2推收也是非常有難度。想想如果2桿上果嶺卻來個3推，推桿就真的很掉漆。尤其下場的機會如果不多，推桿要維持一定水準是有難度。

而最為關鍵就是第一推。因為這推如果距離沒有掌握好，留下的距離還有一段，那第二推就是考驗。如果你沒有常泡球場的人，在3～6步的距離就很難推進。因為這樣的距離是多數球友比較容易遇到，也是最考驗信心度和技術的地方。

所以這就是我要討論的重點。要好的中/長推距離，你的桿頭材質和桿頭設計就很重要，因為要讓推的效果到位，光靠力量去得到，會對你在不同距離的掌握有適應困難。千萬別把推桿想成電視轉播那樣的神準。一般球友肯定無法像選手那樣可以把距離和方向掌握的恰到好處、如魚得水。

一般人要選對桿頭和桿頭材質才能事半功倍。也不是你看得順眼的桿頭設計就可以滿足你的推法。因為你不可能像選手那樣花長時間去建立推擊的技巧和經驗。

推桿桿頭如果是新型的大頭設計，多半這類的桿頭材質是鋁合金，因為重量可以比較輕，把桿頭體積就做大，可以不會得到太高的桿頭重量。這樣推起來也容易簡單多。視覺上也比較有穩定軍心的效果！

Putter is like wedge with highly similarity. There are various lofts for wedge to perform different distances. It is easy to perform various results from the gears, but in golf, the distance and direction controlling are the keys to deliver the best score.

In terms of putting, it's all about the controlling your power and club. Particularly nowadays golf green design is wider and bigger. For average and weekend golfers, if your ball is landed on bad spot, it's easy to get 3 putts. Then you will need to consider to use the club to help you.

The key of putting is the first put on the green. If you do not perform well with your distance, it will be tough for you to make the second put to the hole particularly you still have about 5~6 feet left. For such distance on the green, it's most challenge for average golfers and always needs two putts to finish such distance.

As a result, you need to select the right putter head design and material then you can get the better putting distance on your first put. The long and mid distances on the green is the most challenge to golfers to accomplish. If your putter is not right to deliver such distance easily, you will have hard time to make it to the hole.

大頭設計是好瞄準。桿面往後延伸有設計一些容易瞄準的特性。也是大家喜歡的原因。加上桿頭不重，很容易上手。但這類桿頭的問題在，長推距離比較差。就算你很用力推或上桿到一半的位置距離還是有限。因為材質是鋁合金，材質密度沒有不鏽鋼高。距離效果就不如不鏽鋼。

如果你看電視選手推這類桿子也可以觀察他們長推時，其實都上桿很大，但距離還是有差。所以這類桿頭適合中短距離。會更容易去瞄準和控制距離。我自己也有不少這類推桿，但我多半會選擇這類小烏龜推桿頭材質是不鏽鋼，這樣中長距離比較容易發揮出來。同時也有好瞄準的特性。

而不鏽鋼的小烏龜桿頭也不會做的很大，至少比鋁合金要小多了。Scotty的小烏龜都是鋁合金，所以桿頭比較扁平也大。在瞄準會比較容易。而鋁合金的桿頭手感也比較軟。這也是你選購時可以觀察和注意。因為材質絕對會影響你的手感和效能效果。

所以就算是小烏龜的桿頭也有不同材質效果和手感差異。也絕不是你想的那樣簡單或選順眼好看就會適合你使用。 而如果要更詳細的特性就需要更深入的使用需求、推法和身體力學等討論了。

那傳統型推桿？這類推桿多半是不鏽鋼材質，桿頭比較小也簡單。所以對技術和操控會比較講究。也是一般球友不愛的原因。同時推到非甜蜜點的手感比較重手。就如同打鍛造推桿的感覺一樣。所以沒有練過就很難推好。

不過很多這類傳統外型推桿頭會在桿面使用坎入式不同材質來改善手感問題。不如桿面是塑膠材質，鋁合金、或其他比較軟的材質來改善手感偏硬的問題。不過這大多都是沒有推到桿面甜蜜點的問題。如果可以控制推到桿面甜蜜點或熱區比較在7成左右，其實推不鏽鋼的手感真的不錯。當然這就是熟練度的問題了。

Big MOI putter head design is good on your control and aiming approach. Since the whole head designs flatter and wider for golfers to aim the target and ball easier without problem. Meanwhile the head material is aluminum which is light and soft advantages. Scotty cameron is good to use aluminum material on such putters.

the opposite is the putting distance is not as good as stainless putter head. That's why when you use such big and wide aluminum putter for long putting, it's always short even though you strike hard. I have various big MOI putters but I love stainless material with such wide design head. Since I can maintain the good aiming control and good distance for long put.

When you know the differences on materials, you can select the best fit for your personal use. I do not really need a soft putting feedback but I do need to control the putter and easily for aiming feature. Thus next time when you try to pick the putter for youself, look into the putter head material to know the possible putting power you will have?

For traditional blade or one piece putter head design, it is simpler and easier to select. Since the head is made by casting or milling from stainless brick. But there are many face inserted design to make the putting feel better and soft. Stainless is harder than aluminum and it will make you feel hard when you impact the ball. That's why there is putter face inserting for other material to have better putting feel.

Personally, I prefer original material feedback. If you know how to put on the sweet-spot, the feel is great. Of course, you need to practice in order to have high sweet spot striking ratio. At the meantime, you can maintain the long putting distance for all situations. As a result, there is no perfect design putter, you have to pick the best fit for your usage and fit to work out your problems.

不過這類桿頭推因為體積小更容易控制，力量也容易發揮，所以長距離效果會比鋁合金好很多。材質的密度也高於鋁合金。缺點是比較講究身體力量控制。往往短距離會不容易掌握。所以這類桿頭需要練習才能掌握的好。

一樣和鍛造鐵桿一樣，平時沒有固定練習，下場要推好還真的很難。另外規格和桿身都最好要訂製過比較好。這樣身體比較能和桿子有更好的互動。應該說，不管你用什麼桿頭，如果沒有經過一定時間的練習，要推好就像中樂透一樣難。

距離一定要先掌握好，距離對，方向歪，至少可以在第二推比較容易。如果距離不對，方向就算對了，留下距離有超過4步以上，那就非常有難度。我說是多數一般球友，不是在差點15以內的人。如果你常打大果嶺的人，最好要選對的桿頭，不然推桿數也絕對不會好。

推久了後，傳統型的推桿就真的好推。各種狀況都可以解決。同時桿身和規格都適合自己的身材和規格時，就不會推出太難看的結果。所以，推桿要客製是絕對，因為它關係你能否有好的收尾。很多人有不錯的標準桿上果嶺但卻3推。這是非常可惜的事。如果你多花些心思會少掉3～6桿的推桿數。這是我個人你經驗。

The traditional putter is smaller and easy to control, as a result, the long put is much easier to deliver the distance. However, it's hard to put on the sweet spot of the putter face. Without striking on sweet spot of the putter face, the feedback will be hard and uncomfortable. It's the challenge for most of average golfers to handle the traditional putter head.

The key to make full control of such traditional putter is on the body power. Most golfers have wrong concept on putter head since heavy putter head will be easier for golfers to control as average golfers use arms and hands to put without using the body and shoulder rotation. If the putter head is heavy, it's good to control your arm's power with balance. But once play to back 9, the energy gets lower, your arms will have difficulty to maintain and control the heavy putter head.

Moreover, the heavy putter head is hard to control the power on short distance. That's the most difficult part for traditional putter. You can put good when your body energy is in good condition but if the energy is below 50%, the short distance will be the nightmare for you to handle the accuracy.

That's why I have given up the heavy putter head concept on putting fitting. If you do not know how to use your body and upper body's rotation to put, you will be hard to put consistently. Once you know how to use your body to put, your putter will be similar with professional golfers as they know how to use the body to interact with putter in order to deliver the best results and performance.

If you can deliver the right distance of putting, your putting counts would not be bad. You can maintain two putts to finish the hole. That's why putting distance is critical. To make the good distance, you will need to decide and select the right putter head and materials.

At the meantime, you need to keep practicing to gain the experience. It takes time to build your putter skills and experience. It's not going to have good result by using good equipment. That's why practicing is important to gain the best result in golf.

Putter fitting is important, it's very complex work to analyze golfer's physical behavior in putting. If you can find a good putter fitter, you can reduce your score at least 3~6 putts for sure. Putter is the last part of the golf clubs, you have to spend the same time and money investment as woods. It's not just working hard to make the good putting result, you need to have good putter to work with you then it can be possible.
