8月孩子和老婆下來過暑假，今天帶孩子下場，這是他第一次下場，所以今天我的任務就是肩負球僮和心靈導師的角色。因為我下來德州後他就沒有再練球，都是練籃球，所以有點緊張。加上前幾天帶他來Twin Creeks的練習場練球，打的很鳥，所以信心全無。但已經訂的場還是要來完成第一次的打球。

這個球場離我住的地方很近，開車約10分鐘。所以是我固定練球的球場，今天是第一次來打它們的18洞，也是很期待。球場的設計者是Arnold Palmer，我打過他設計的球場都是很有難度，沙坑、水池設計。所以今天這個球場雖然藍梯沒有很長約6300碼，但肯定不會輕鬆過關，加上帶了新手，所以就以輕鬆來享受打球的樂趣。

今天8月10日，德州的學校已經開學，打球的人瞬間少掉不少，所以打球不會有太大壓力，但後面那組只有3個人所以速度也很快，讓我們非常有壓力。我們14:40開球，時間到就out course開球。考慮到帶新手所以也找熟的朋友一起來打，這樣不會因為併組讓孩子覺得緊張不安。而朋友也帶一位球齡也不長的半生不熟的球友一起來打，都是台灣人，在這邊讀研究所。所以打下來真的緊張全無。

這個球場的前9還OK，難度不會太高，它的球道設計起伏不小，加上球道有點像links的感覺，很容易會打到其他球道去。但它會把球道邊一些草叢留起來，進去看起來沒事但球不容易找到，今天一些球就是這樣莫名其妙的沒有了。算了，今天來之前先去Wal mart買一些便宜的Noodles來給兒子打。本來就是讓他來練球。

我和兒子說，如果開球不好，就打我的球位。避免他長桿失誤。但其實他也沒有什麼out of bound/出界，或下水，反而我下水和打到樹林幾次。現在可以瞭解教練帶學生下場實在很累，光看他的球，有幾洞都忘記自己的球在哪邊，就算了不找球省麻煩。孩子今天就說用P桿和7鐵，wedge+推桿。當然開球driver。打得都不錯，他年輕有力量P桿就可以有140幾碼，有次約150碼距離直接打上果嶺。

It's been August, my wife and kids come down to Plano for the vacation. Today I take my son to play in Twin creeks golf course, it's his first time play in golf course so I will need to help him out and be the caddie for him to lead. Since I took him to this golf course's driving range to play and he did not play well without confidence. He hasn't practiced the swing for over 4 months, that's the reason.

In order to allow my son to play easy and relax, I team up with my friends to group together. This way we do not feel too much pressure in playing with other strangers. Twin creeks is very close with my living with 9 minutes driving, I haven't played its 18 holes and very excited today's round.

This golf course is Arnold Palmer designed and it's not going to be easy golf course since his design is always with bunkers and waters on the fairway and greens. The blue tee is about 6300 yards for 18 holes, it's not long course but it's not going to be easy to play particularly I have my son to play first time in golf course.

However, the lucky thing is school is opened today and there are not many golfers to play. We do not need to speed up or have the stress to play with speed from following group. Our tee time is 14:40 and the first 9 is not tough, the fairway is like links style without trees or waters to identify the holes. If your ball goes to the rough, it's hard to find it since the grass is long.

I bought a dozen noodles from Wal mart for my sons to play in this round, he only plays pitch wedge and 7i. Of course the driver, his driver is not bad today without losing the ball. I told him if his tee shot goes to the water or trees, he can use my ball as the second shot position to play. This way he can release the stress on the tee shot.

這球場的梯台土非常硬，很難把tee給插進去。球道也偏硬，果嶺前面3洞是慢，中間洞都是快，關鍵是，不少果嶺在打洞鋪沙，所以不好推。當然自己也沒有很認真推。它的果嶺設計都有起伏，而且果嶺不是很大，需要準度才能打上，而果嶺都會有沙坑包圍住，今天下沙2次，最近下沙的少，所以都忘記要怎麼打，挖了2次出不來，第三次才全力吃下去送上去，離旗桿很很近。

這個球場的沙坑都設計非常到位，都是你很容易會下去的位置，所以只要你失誤就會讓你失血。沙子有點軟，偏細沙。所以要全力去打才容易出來。另外它的球道設計也很機車，都會有樹林和水池把你的視線擋住。或打的時候有壓力來進攻。越保守，越容易打壞。它的後九就是非常有難度，又是水池、樹林、狗腿球道...稍微失誤就讓你受傷。當然這種時間台灣比比皆是，見怪不怪了！

倒是孩子表現還不錯，尤其短桿穩定度很高，切球都切的出不錯的彈道，落點也到位。以一個新手來說，非常穩定。至少我以前剛下場打的前10場球，炒米粉就沒有停過。因為他的P和wedge一直都是練的最好。推桿也有幾洞可以一推收。路徑的掌握很不錯。因為我在球場不會去看的路徑都是他自己去推和決定。這就是樂趣。這樣的表現不像新手。

雖然今天90多度/35度左右，但有風的德州夏天就很舒服。polo衫不會濕，稍微一點的汗水，一下就會吹乾。如果沒有風，打這種球場真的會瘋掉。難度和天氣會讓你的大腦很難集中精神。我必須說這個球場是目前我在德州打的球場難度最高。讓我覺得非常需要集中力和精準度的一場球。但我今天剛好都沒有帶出來。所以掉不少球！

尤其在最後3洞，裡面一個三桿洞像極了老淡水的一個三桿洞，左邊樹林右邊有沙坑，約180碼距離，加一點逆風，我拿3木直接打上果嶺。很有壓力！稍微失誤就出界或下沙。孩子P桿開上球道，切2次才上果嶺。打到最後3洞都已經沒有精神。孩子也說沒力了，但還是打完。完美的體驗高爾夫，也讓我覺得帶新手下場，容易顧此失彼。要打好除非可以一人同時做2種不同事。我的功力還遠遠不足！

也感謝朋友的協助，因為帶新手打球需要有耐心，同時也要協助看球和找球。朋友都大力協助，減少我不少的精力。我想以後和朋友再來打，就要認真打。不能半吊子的態度。因為這個球場是真的需要2下子。

The tee box is so hard to put the tee. It's like rock! I used plastic tee but unable to tee and use the wood tee was ok. I did not know why it's so hard to tee? The fairway is hard as well so you can get more rolling for the distance but the green is not good condition. The first 3 holes' green are slow speed then the rest is fast and some of the greens are on the maintenance with sands and holes.

The bunker is fun as well, the sands are thin and it needs to use the power in order to get the ball out of it. I was in bunkers 2 times and the first time I shot three times to get out of it. I would say the bunkers on the golf course is well designed. It's located the places your ball is able to land. If you mis shot, you get hurt for sure.

The back 9 is tough and very challenged with many dog leg fairways and you will need to lay on to get the ball on the green. The trees are making your eyes hard to target and unable to know where is the green direction. I would say it's the toughest golf course I have ever played in Plano area. You need to have right direction and location accuracy in order to stay alive.

My son is playing well with his short iron and short game. He makes his 30 yards short chipping with high trajectory and lands on the green nicely. It's unlike the new golfer who has such ability on the short game with flat and open face wedge shots. My first 10 rounds were chipping back and forth on the greens all the time. That's really impressive me!

His putting was good as well, there are couple of one putt with right reading the paths. I think he is good on short game and putting with his abilities to feel the clubs and read the green to make a good putt. It's not an easy job for the first time golfer to perform like that. Now I know to play with the new golfers is a tough job. I need to give the swing coach thumb up!

I would like to play again for this golf course since it's good to know your accuracy and consistency. If you are not concentrated on your swing and direction setup, you won't get the right result. When you play the golf course like this, you know your shortage and weakness. I think I can play it better with my focus and ability.
