為什麼你需要瞭解桿身的特性/why do you need to know the shaft profile?
說起桿身,越來越多球友瞭解這是很重要的一個零件。要打的穩定和遠,一定和桿身脫不了關係。而桿身也不是說包山包海、一路上天堂。如果沒有對的桿頭、握把配重,同時設定對的規格,再好、再貴的桿身也一樣發揮有限。
桿身特性/shaft profile是什麼?簡單來說,就算這款桿身設計的目的、功能、和材質等硬道理。當然也包含桿身是木桿、球道木、鐵桿身或推桿身等用途。瞭解桿身特性,才能知道如何去選擇你需要的桿身。比如你打球會右曲球,那要如何選擇適合的桿身來改善問題?這就是要瞭解桿身特性。
打球會產生曲球來,是因為你的桿頭路徑問題,你的桿頭下桿移動到接觸球之前、之後的移動都不是在一條方正線上。而你要如何曲修正這個問題?就需要使用桿頭也要是桿面開或關設定,同時桿身的抗側旋能力要好,才能把曲球的幅度給減低。
大家要瞭解的一點,擊球問題不會改變,除非你從自己身上去改善才能根治。球桿只能幫你修正問題,無法完全消除問題。所以桿身的特性,可以協助你改善動作問題。而幅度大小就需要瞭解球桿各方面的設定和條件才知道。
桿身特性有幾個特點是大家可以去觀察和瞭解。一個是“桿身的材質”。比如現在很多桿身材質都會使用高噸位碳布。這是碳纖維材質強度提高的技術。以前的桿身碳布在20噸的強度左右。但現在技術進步下,可以提升強度到有40~90噸的碳布。強度提升、重量減低的優點。

More golfers know the golf shaft is critical part for making a good shot. Picking up the right shaft can help you make the shot long and consistent. But the golf shaft is not so powerful, you need to get fit to have right shaft to work out your swing issues. It doesn't mean the luxury shaft the best, the whole thing is based on the right specification and selecting the shaft profile.
Shaft profile is critical, but what exactly is this term and coverage? In short, it is about the shaft materials, features, technologies and functionalities. Furthermore, there are many types of shaft such as woods, irons, hybrids, and putter. You need to what you need and swing issues in order to choose the right shaft for your situation.
For example, if you can not make your shot straightly, you need to get the shaft to work out the side spin issue. How to work it out or reduce the slice or hook? You can pick up the head with close or open face setup and the shaft with low side spin feature to reduce the side spin rate.
Everyone needs to know one simple idea, the golf club can not work out your swing issue completely, it can only reduce the problem with certain percentage. If you would like to work the issue out completely, you need to find the solution on your swing and body.
That's why to know the shaft profile is important as you can select the right features, materials and technologies to help you reduce your swing issues. There are many elements you need to know and the first one is the material of the shaft.
Of course, the carbon shaft is made by graphite carbon sheets and nowadays the sheet's material increased sharply. 10 years ago the carbon shaft is mainly used 20 ton and 30 ton modulus fiber, and recent 10 years, the more wood shafts are using 40~80 ton high modulus fiber to make the shaft strong and solid. It tells you that we can use less weight of the shaft but maintain or have stronger shaft for loading and unloading our power during the swing.

不是用越強的碳布就比較好,因為強度太高,會完全沒有彈性。所以都要搭配不同噸位數碳布的混用,才能得到最好的效果。而高噸位碳布是桿身強度的特性。可以有效減低擊球倒旋量、側旋量、和提高球速等效果。這也是要提升桿身性能和穩定度,從材質下手最有效,但成本比較高。
基本上,碳布強度在40噸或以上都是所謂高噸位碳布!而強度越高的碳布,運用上也比較有限。通常都是放在特定桿身部位,提升強度做用。而比較軟的碳布就放在需要受力彎曲的部位,產生彈性效果。
所以別被一些行銷語言或文宣給誤導。因為高碳布的使用上會比較簡單,缺乏彈性或沒有折點的感覺。如果揮桿速度慢的人,會覺得用起來硬的回饋。所以揮桿速度慢的球友,要選擇桿身重量輕的桿身,才能利用高碳布的效果和優勢。
在高噸位碳布桿身,選擇“硬度”就是關鍵。也不能用一般你用市售桿子的硬度來選擇。因為強度高的桿身,往往打起來和得到的硬度頻率,都和一般數據不同。這時候就需要實際使用的經驗,才能選擇正確的硬度。
如果技師沒有實際使用,是無法選擇正確的硬度。看太多技師,都是沿用一般桿身硬度選擇方式在高噸位碳布。當然後面用的結果,就是整個打不動!尤其某日系桿身品牌的10萬限量桿身,聽到一些球友都說打不起來。
說完桿身材質,再說到桿身彈道。彈道的設定在桿身廠來說,都是以桿身的擊球起發角,也就是launch angle。 如果你看廠商的規格數據會有這一個。通常都是寫,高、中、低。也就是說,你要高彈道的桿身,自然選擇桿身的launch角度是高,反之,就是低反彈角。

It's not said using the more high modulus fiber, the better performance you will get. Technically, it needs to mix up with standard or low modulus fibers such as 20 ton and 30 ton modulus in order to create shaft kick point. If it's all made by high modulus fibers for the whole shaft, it will be unable to play as it's too stiff.
However, using high modulus carbon fiber is expensive and the prices are high for most of high modulus shafts, but you can get fast ball speed and low spin/side spin rates.
There is important part to select the right high modulus shaft's flex. You can use common experience to choose the shaft flex with high modulus fiber material. I have seen many golfers got negative feedback on picking the wrong flex for high modulus fiber shaft.
Since the shaft frequency is differed with OEM shaft (off the rock clubs). If you do not play it before, it's hard to get the right flex for your usage. That's why you need to have good and experienced clubfitter to help you out on selecting the right flex and shaft weight for you. It's highly required experience and usage for high modulus fiber shafts.
Let's move on to trajectory. It's important performance for a shaft. How to know a shaft's trajectory? You need to check the shaft's specification's launch angle. It's indicated for low, high and mid. The high launch will get high trajectory and low will get low trajectory. The shaft specification would not show high, mid and low trajectory.

這點不難。但就算是寫出來,不見得你實際打出來就是低彈道或高彈道。因為這也和你的桿面角度選擇有直接關係。當你在選擇桿身是就需要觀察這個數據。
另外,還有一個重要的數據就是“桿身倒旋量”。通常在桿身廠商的官網都會有桿身的規格表。而倒旋量也是會註明在裡頭。也是寫“高、中、低”三種。大家都可以看得懂,但你要如何選擇對你適合的倒旋量?就需要看你的需求和揮桿速度。桿身強度高的擊球倒旋量都是比較低。這點是通則!
通常揮桿速度快的人,需要的倒旋量會比較低。所以在選擇桿身倒旋這塊最好不要高。配置的桿身也會比較性能導向。不然打出來的球容易飛高,和不滾等問題。因為球本身花太多能量在自轉上,導致飛行速度變慢和飛得過高,缺乏穿透力。這就是桿身的重要特性和使用者的關係。
但如果你速度不快,選的桿身倒旋低,就容易飛不遠,球就容易從空中掉下來。因為能量不足,飛行到空中,就無法持續飛行而掉落。所以到底是高、中、低、什麼倒旋量適合?就需要觀察球友本身的動作和節奏來對應。
更重要的事,要選擇對的擊球倒旋量還需要知道,你的桿面倒旋能力。桿面就沒有這部分的資料和數據可以參考。但有經驗的技師是可以看的出來。我可以看桿面設計,去瞭解可能的倒旋量高低。所以一支球桿的倒旋量其實是非常複雜,需要考慮到的因素有桿身、桿面和使用者的揮桿動作。缺一不可!

It's not difficult to find out the launch data, but the point is you have no idea of how much is the high lanuch? how low is the low launch? Every one has different way and judgement on the trajectory. That's why the shaft maker is using "high, mid and low" on shaft launch.
In terms of shaft spin, we can get it from shaft company's website for product specification. It's used to identify as high, mid and low for spin ratio. How to pick up the right spin rate of the shaft? It needs to check your swing speed then determine the right spin for your play.
However, technically the shaft is designed for stronger and lower launch profile that is better for swing speed fast and tempo quick golfers. If the shaft generates more spin during the impact, the ball will flight higher like balloon without outstanding distance and no rolling at all.
Since the ball has more spin on itself, that tells you the energy is all on ball spinning without penetrated ball speed toward to the green. That's why we need to check ourselves for swing speed and swing tempo in order to find out what shaft spin rate is good for personal usage?
If your swing speed is not fast, you need to pick up high launch and high spin shaft to help you lift the ball higher and allow the air to support the ball for flighting longer.
The other important element for spin rate is club face spin rate. There is no information and data on this part and it needs to rely on clubfitter's experience and knowledge in order to get the possible club face spins. I am able to read the club face's spin ratio and find the right shaft spin to fit the golfer.
As a result, your shot of the ball spin rate is made up by many factors such as shaft spin rate, face loft, face spin rate and your swing speed. It's very complicated, but you need to know the shaft part as the fundamental.

觀察動作就是技師的專業。而這不是一般球友可以瞭解,需要和技師討論。另外還有桿身的重量、硬度,這都是大家知道也容易瞭解。就不多說。而桿身扭矩這個數據,也是判斷桿身的抗側旋能力和手感有關。通常大多的桿身扭矩在3~5之間。
高的扭矩通常用起來比較舒服,易打性會不錯。如果低於4的扭矩數據,就屬於比較需要速度去發揮。因為扭矩就是桿身受到我們力量,面對扭力產生的應對速度。也就是桿身回正的速度。數據越低,回正速度越快。但手感上就會偏硬。數據大,回正速度就比較順暢。
但現在桿身在材質和技術的家持下,不見得高扭矩的桿身,桿面回正速度會比較慢。所以看扭矩這個數據比較不準。也很難判斷桿身好不好打,或手感差異。當然就我個人的經驗,扭矩低的桿身,如果你的揮桿速度不快的話,手感上就不會太好。
桿身特性是一個整體、全面的產品瞭解。需要瞭解上面這些技術的因素和數據。它不只是看規格表,還需要瞭解材質和桿身使用的技術。再加上實際使用的經驗,才能對桿身的特性有一個整體完整的瞭解。這也是我一直說,通常一位專業的技師,最多瞭解2~3個品牌的產品。不可能所有桿身都懂。
因為產品太多,沒有實際去使用瞭解和組裝,是無法瞭解很多桿身的回饋、技術和表現。這需要長時間的經驗累積,才能有一套對桿身特性的瞭解和詮釋。但對於一般球友來說,就先去瞭解這些規格和技術吧!
Understanding swing is important skill for clubfitter. The good clubfitter needs to know the club knowledge and assemble skills, but to analyze the golf swing order to know the problems and possible solutions through the club or personal swing. That's the most difficult part for clubfitter as to know the swing takes time to study and learn. It's not going to build for short term.
Regarding the shaft weight, and flex, it's easy to understand through shaft specification. The torque is hard to understand. Technically the torque is meat the golf club face turns square to hit the ball. The high number means the turning speed slower, the smaller number is quick turning speed.
Most of shafts torque is from 3 to 5 range. High torque is able to get better feel from the shaft and good for swing speed not fast golfer to consider. On the other hand, the small torque is good for fast swing tempo golfer.
However, with shaft technology and high modulus carbo fiber material, high torque number doesn't mean the club face turning speed is slow as usual. It actually can catch up fast swing golfer's speed. Therefore, torque is not a good indication to evaluate shaft's fundamental or feedback.My personal experience is low torque shaft would not be good for swing speed slow golfers.
Shaft profile is the overall analysis. It's not only the shaft specification, but the other features to consider such as materials, and technology. Your actual play experience is important to know how the shaft technology and materials perform? That's why I always said a good clubfitter can not know all the shafts profiles. since one shaft brand has many models and products to know.
The clubfitter would not have time to cover all the products for knowing the profile. To know 2 to 3 brands is the best for a clubfitter in practically. For average golfers, it's better to know above shaft specification and data first. It's the fundamental and helpful.
