別小看這個問題,因為不是說你的球桿的重量太重,而是你的球桿長度過長和重量比例不對,導致的在上下桿過程中,你的手臂需要去承受很多球桿的重量,進而去控制球桿。 這也是我自己使用的球桿很少會以市售的球桿規格去設定。選手和我們有很大不同是,他們先天身體優勢,再加上後天不斷的練習、提升身體強度,他們可以用市售的規格,但我們就是一般人既沒有身體優勢、後天練球又不勤快,要打好和提升效果是夢話。

很多技師或教練對於比較長的木桿、或鐵桿的說法是:可以讓你的擊球距離提升,但這點我從10幾年前就做過測試和比較了。桿子的長度在2“以內的差別,基本很難有明顯距離提升。而就算是2”的長度差,距離效果的差異也在10碼以內。而10碼這個距離差,也可以視為你的擊球誤差範圍。比如有沒有打到甜蜜點和動作的施展有沒有到位?都可能讓你的擊球距離有10碼的差異。

但如果你用一支46“木桿和44”的木桿會有怎樣的差異?差異會很大,因為我一直都是設定我的木桿長度在45“以內,近5年來的長度都在44~44.5”範圍。而我自己所得到的使用距離和我用超過45“的木桿長度,是更好,或說更穩定。因為這樣的球桿長度對我身體和手臂在上下桿過程中,不會有很大的負擔,下桿觸球可以更容易去爆發我的小宇宙,和帶動控制球頭路徑。

我的球道木也是比一般長度要短1”,都是以減低身體和手臂負擔,讓動作可以更容易去發揮和施展為最大目的。鐵桿也差不多短一般0.5“,推桿就比較多了,一般就做32”上下0.5“的長度範圍。我的球桿好處就是身體更容易去爆發力量、擊球的精準度提升到最高、失擊的傷害可以在最小範圍。當然這當中還有桿身重量和硬度的選擇。都是讓你使用可以更加順手和輕鬆的因素。

我自己的經驗和球桿設定規格的基本邏輯就在;讓身體可以輕鬆、容易去發揮動作的力量!在這個前提和目的上去選擇適合的桿頭、桿身、握把。所以就算我現在的擊球距離和我20多歲也不會差太多。因為年輕時的我,太多力量都是虛的、也是在擊球過程時消耗掉,或是觸球時,力量沒有到最大化的擊球。所以擊球的質量很差。但年紀大了就逐漸去看很多細節,和提升擊球質量和穩定性。這樣才能讓我打球盡情的去發洩和享受大自然!你說呢?

The golf club too long or incorrect weight distribution is the major issue for golfers to generate your maximum power. Well, it's not about the power, you are barely to control your golf club. I have been using the driver within 44.5"~44" since 5 years ago compared with retail driver 45.5~46". 2" length difference is hard to gain the distance over10 yards. But it will increase the difficulty for your body to control during the swing.

The golfers would say; look at the professional golfers' gears, they are using similar length and specification from the retail golf clubs, they are doing so good and that's why we need to learn from. That's not correct because you do not have their talent and body quality. The second is you do not work as hard as they are doing for building the body stronger and working the right golf swing.

As a result, their body is able to handle such golf club and length during the swing. We as the ordinary people who don't have too much time on workout and building the right swing, as far as we can do is to make the golf club to fit your body and golf swing. At least it works on me and my distance is not losing too much compared 20 years ago.

My fairway is about 1" shorter than retail, irons are half inch shorter, putter is set 32" + - 0.5" range. The benefit of right length and specification help me manage the golf club during the swing. I can control the club head better to make sure my body power deliver the maximum power with my arms. That's why my tee shot can stably maintain 250 ~260 yards.

Some clubfitters or clubmakers may tell you using light swing weight or light shaft, but length is still there, it would not help in back 9 when your energy drops. The key is to allow your body to generate the power easy and simple. My power is not deliver efficiently and productively when I was 20s. When I gets older, I check all the details and tools to make my swing quality better. That's you can learn from.
