小雞腿桿身的另一個代替法/Hybrid shaft's selection！~上集

下集開始。

其實有小雞腿專用桿身，重量也都分布在60～90g。但我都會去看球友的動作狀況和他的木桿、球道木和鐵桿的配置狀況才來選擇推薦適合的小雞腿桿身。因為這是第一步，如果選擇不對重量的話，配置會不好設定規格，最後使用結果也不會太好。因為規格不對，你也無法發揮桿子的效果。

當然我自己和比較熟的朋友的配置方法就是以鐵桿桿身的配置來做。我直接用碳纖維鐵桿桿身的重量和硬度來去配置，不去選用小雞腿專用桿身。因為小雞腿的長度和規格設定都會和長鐵差不多，桿身可以沿用碳纖維鐵桿桿身。也就是說，你的鐵桿桿身可以用在小雞腿上！

對於配置來說，其實更容易和簡單。因為碳纖維鐵桿桿身的重量都會相對輕，同時裁減的空間比較小。小雞腿專用桿身的裁減會比較大，重量的變化比較大。而且鐵桿桿身的桿身強度也高，小雞腿桿身有些設計的韌性比較大。也就是比較彈。對於鐵桿打法的人來說，反而不好去應對。

那對於使用結果呢？我覺得比用小雞腿專用桿身的結果要更好。雖然桿身的回饋上沒有小雞腿專用桿身的彈，但比較像鐵桿的效果，手到桿頭就到的效率，同時倒旋和側旋也控制的更好。距離效果和小雞腿是一樣。

所以我常會訂一組碳纖維鐵桿桿身，比如3-P，而給球友訂製的是4-P或5-P，我留下3i或4i的桿身來用。把它們裝在小雞腿上，這樣的價格反而比買一支新的小雞腿專用桿身要便宜多了。但實際使用和配置都比專用桿身要容易多了。要不就是把3i和4i的桿身裝在球友的小雞腿上。

我有很多做法和觀念是和現在的訂製球桿做法是不一樣。因為當你懂基礎後，就可以盡情去發揮和變化，然後你會發現很多更好的做法和結果。一成不變不是我的風格，嘗試不同的方法就是驅動我持續高爾夫的動力。這是給大家一個選擇，沒有膽子的人不要輕易測試！或對訂製球桿的經驗不多人就聽聽就好。

There are hybrid shafts to select with the weight from 60g to 100g. The right shaft weight is based on golfer's swing and speed. If you do not pick the right weight, it's hard to make the best performance for the hybrid. However, I have my own approach to select hybrid shaft that picks the graphite iron shafts as the hybrid shaft to fit.

Since hybrid is similar like iron's long irons, it's easier to use the long iron's shaft on hybrids to play. Actually the clubmaking for such long iron shafts to hybrid is easier, since the hybrid is like your long iron's set up with similar specification. However, it's good to use the carbon iron shaft on the hybrid. I do not suggest to use steel shaft on the hybrid.

How about the performance and usage on this approach? With my experience and customer's feedback, it's better than hybrid shaft performance. Since the shaft is designed as the iron play that is less spin rate and higher trajectory for landing on the green. The feedback is the only weakness since the iron shaft is stiffer feel than hybrid shaft.

If you are not the feeling driven golfer, this way is the best for you to setup your hybrid. More importantly, the shaft cost is lower than hybrid shaft. Since you can purchase the whole set of the carbon iron shafts, and put the 3i or 4i shafts on your hybrid heads. The cost of each shaft will be lower than hybrid shaft for sure. That's how I do and I suggest for golfers to setup their irons and hybrid.

Some of my clubmaking are different with current standard or current setting concept. Since I would like to try different idea and approach in order to know the better solution. If you like to stick on the current and traditional way, you do not need to care about this article's idea and information. For me, if there is other way to make golf clubs better, I will go for it without hesitation. That's my golf!
