Plano Custom golf~ Dave Murrey/德州Plano高爾夫工坊！

上週朋友打給我稍微聊一下，知道我在德州的Plano，就介紹我當地的一位球桿訂製師。經過朋友的介紹，就找時間去和這位訂製師聊聊。google一下地圖才知道他就是上次去Watter Creek球場的練習場裡的拖車。上次去是週日，剛好他說，週日休假，不上工。

今天和他約週六，他說週六他是從10到下午2點，做的少，也不會安排太多的活。就是輕鬆的過。Dave是60多歲，過著半退休的生活。他說他做球桿訂製和維修就是興趣，喜歡高爾夫所以做，不會為了賺錢而做桿子，而是覺得給客人對的東西更為重要。和我都是喜歡和興趣的做球桿，越聊越麻吉了。

我和他聊了快3個小時，當中他有客人找他，我就去練球。也瞭解他對訂製和球桿的一些做法和觀念。都是彼此觀念相通才能這樣放開的聊。他也是Ping、Mizuno、Taylormade、Titleist的球桿訂製師。另一個拖車是試打桿為主，小的拖車是他進行組裝和維修的基地。

雖然拖車裡不大，但麻雀雖小五臟俱全。而且就在練習場裡，球桿直接試。這樣開放的空間是我覺得最好的高爾夫工作室。當然他是非常有料的技師，做了幾十年了。和我一樣都是Veylix、Fujikura桿身一直做下去，因為產品需要垂直的瞭解，不是廣面的知道皮毛就好。

大家也別認為美國訂製師就比較優。這個領域是看技師本身的能力、經驗和知識的總和。不是完全靠電腦系統或擊球模擬器來決定你的桿子組合和規格。很多的訂製球桿連鎖店都不是自己組裝，這樣很難知道一些細節。因為桿子要做到好，需要在細節的組裝做到位，才能有效，比如spine、配重、角度和握把厚度等。他們多數以銷售為主，不是讓你得到你要的期待結果。

以後又多一個地方可以來討論、喇賽了！不是這個練習場好，而是Dave是一位專業、有料和超nice的人。因為個性相同，所以朋友圈都有交集、也是都會相互幫忙。這就是出外靠朋友的道理啊！

Last week I was talking with one of my friends and she refers the clubfitter/clubmaker in Plano, TX. This weekend I go to his place to chat that I realize his workshop is in Watter creek golf course' driving range. Since last time I went to WC driving range, it's off Sunday and this time we will meet at his work shop van.

His name is Dave Murrey with decades of clubmaking and clubfitting in Plano, TX. We have been talking the golf for over 3 hours and he is such a nice and friendly gentleman. Of course, we have the same interest on clubmaking and clubfitting with similar working attitude and concept. He is very knowledgeable and experienced clubfitter with vertical product experience on Veylix and Fujikura.

He is also the clubfitter for Taylormade, Titleist, Ping, Mizuno. During the discussion he has the customers to deal with and I play my drill in driving range. He is not working for the money but focuses on the quality and right products for the golfers. With his information, I am getting more idea for the local golf market and situation.

It's not all the clubfitting services through the chain stores are good for the golfers. The qualified and knowledgeable clubfitter need to know product, body workout and swing. More importantly the clubfitter is always the clubmaker that to build the golf clubs through his hands for the best result and combination. That's not going to get through the chain store.

With his van, it's small but equips all tools, machines and accessories. That's what I prefer for the working environment that can reach the driving range to build the clubfitting right away. Your mind is always opened and wide. Now I have one more place to go with my free time and if you have any questions regarding the golf club, he is the one who can help you out for sure!
