下集開始。

而這兩款球都有一個特性就是打起來launch angle比較高,都到16多~18度。這樣的狀況就導致球飛的比較高,飛行效率上就相對比我目前最愛的Titleist Tour Speed要弱。我以Tour speed為對照組,都是一樣3層結構,2層皮,外皮是TPU射出的urethane。結構、材質和技術都差不多下,比較起來比較貼切,也容易看出差異。

Tour Speed球硬度86,舒服不硬,而且Tour speed的數據結果是最穩定。所謂的穩定就是在各方面的數據表現都是在一個範圍內,不會忽上忽下。就算沒有打到甜蜜點,數據也在範圍內!飛行距離Tour speed可以比e12 contact和Tour B XS要遠5~8碼距離,滾動也和它們兩個不相上下。所以結果就是bridgestone的球,飛的比較短。差至少5碼。

如果沒有打到甜蜜點的話距離落差會超過10碼。因為bridgestone的非甜蜜距離實在很差。飛行距離在210碼上下,Tour speed都可以220碼。打到甜蜜點tour speed可以230,Bridgestone在225碼左右,當然倒旋量也比較多,都超過3000rpm。所以飛起來就短了。我覺得應該是它們的球心問題。太正規的配方,相對Tour speed的球心就知道要怎麼做才會遠。

看球心就知道它們用什麼東西了。對Bridgestone的球有點小失望。就算Tour B XS不是我的速度規格,但至少要滾的夠遠啊!因為我用Srixon Z star VX也是給速度超過100mph的人,硬度96,打起來不會很硬但超會滾。也是飛行距離比較短,但它的滾動可以補回來。所以距離可以有不同方法來得到,就看球的特性來決定。

其實這是目前球的一個問題,大家都走軟球心設計,軟的話,打起來很舒服,感受過多的球被擠壓。而擊球擠壓會比硬球心要過多,能量會被分散掉。適度擠壓是可以得到好的爆發力,但擠壓過度,飛行距離短就是一個問題。Callaway的 ERC soft球(3層球結構)也是這個問題,初速快但飛行距離就不行。我都是以Tour Speed為基準去比較。就是短5碼,尤其非甜蜜點的距離短比較多。這樣一來一往就比tour speed少了10碼。

With the launch monitor data, these two golf balls gets similar result with good ball speed, launch angle and flying distance, but the carry distance is kind of short compared with my ideal golf ball Titleist Tour Speed ball with the same 3 layer, 2 injection mid and cover TPU. The launch angles are 16~18 degree that makes the ball flight higher with over 3000rpm back spin.

Because of the soft compressions for these two balls and generates more spin rates and higher launch angle, the rolling distance is no big different with 20~25 yards. Looking at tour speed ball, it's compression 86 with good feel in impact but the carry distance is 5~ 8 yards longer than e12 contact and Tour B XS balls with similar rolling distance.

If it's off sweet spot, the distance will be 10 yards longer since Bridgestone ball is not the long flying ball. The sweet spot can be 230 yards for tour speed, Bridgestone balls are 225 yards. I think it's the golf core issue since the ball structure, material and technologies are similar. Golf core is about 80% of the whole golf ball, if the core is good, the result will be good without doubt.

I also compare with Srixon Z star VX ball that is for swing speed 100mph golfers, compression 96. The feedback is ok, but the rolling distance is outstanding. Even though the flying distance is short but it can gain more rolling distance. Bridgestone's core is using good materials but it's too standardized, tour speed core knows how to make the longer fly with adding some other materials.

Now the trend is to use the soft compression for golfers to get more feedback from the striking, but if the impact compression to the ball is too much, it would result the energy lost. However small percentage of the ball compression is good to generate the ball bouncing power, that's why you need to know which ball compression is fit your swing though the data.
