老虎每週都換新挖起桿/Tiger replaces his wedges weekly!~上集

我常在洋梨討論挖起桿需要定期更換，才能讓你用起來很鋒利。這對多數球友來說,好像是理想或玩桿的人才這麼做。但我必須說如果你要打得好，工欲善其事，必先利其器！而老虎就是這樣。別認為這是選手才這樣，如果你要打好、會停球，挖起桿的桿面是最常耗損。

鐵桿和挖起桿都經常要吃土，所以土裡面有不同物質和大小顆粒。這樣經過摩擦後桿面就容易刮傷或磨平。加上如果你用日本軟鐵桿頭，這個磨耗更快。得到好的手感，但卻付出桿面快速磨耗。我自己很多日本軟鐵鍛造挖起桿桿頭，就是不到6個月就桿面磨平了更換。

定期更換挖起桿桿頭是絕對必要。我通常看一個球友會不會打球，或在不在意高爾夫，看他的球桿就知道。而看挖起桿可以知道他打得好壞。當然有很多打的好的球友，尤其短桿，他們的挖起桿桿面都磨的差不多。因為他們在練習場練上千顆球。

但實際挖起桿桿面才是最重要。一直切球，桿面如何能不磨呢？而老虎的狀況就說，他每週都更換他的挖起桿，因為他練短切很勤快。使用時，他要確保切出去的球可以照他期待的停球能力，如果桿面不鋒利，球可能倒旋少一點就會對結果有很大影響。

雖然我們一般球友不需要打到那樣的要求。但至少要做到能停球。而多數球友的挖起桿完全不及格。就算桿面看起來好好，但你只要用手指摸桿面，桿面如果很滑或磨的亮都不行。我自己就是，差不多每半年到8個月時間，更換挖起桿桿頭。

I used to talk about the wedge head replacement. Why do I need to regularly replace the wedge head? My wedge head groove is still good, what conditions do I need to replace it? If you would like to play good short game or drop and stop on the green, your wedge head needs to be sharp in order to create good spin.

Wedge and iron heads needs to eat the turf and there are many kinds of sands on the ground, that would make your wedge face weak and polishing. If you are using Japan forged head, the face will be easier to become weak than other cast wedge head. I have used a lot of Japan forged wedge heads but all could not stand for 6 month usage.

Regularly replacement of wedge head is important to help you play the good result. If you want to know this golfer is good or bad in skills, you can check his wedge first. If the wedge grooves and face are sharp, he is good player. If the wedge face has been wearing a lot of scratches, the golfer is not care about the wedge performance at all.

Tiger said he replaces his wedges every, since he regularly play his short game and if the wedge can not perform what he expecting, that will cost him a lot. He could know a wedge face situation after playing a shot since his swing is consistent and if the result is not what he used to have, he knows right away for the issue of the wedge head.

Although average golfers do not need to have such high standard but wedge is the club that we need to consider for regularly replacing. We do not need to get the expensive Japan forged wedge, some cast wedges are good to play. The key is face condition. It needs to be sharp and able to bring the right amount of spin rate for stopping the ball on the green. That's all you need to address!

You can touch your wedge face to feel the condition. If the face is smooth that means the face has been wearing a lot of plays, it needs to replace. If the face feel. it still has certain of usage to play. That's the way you can do self check.
